Battery Registration History
Is there an easy way to view battery registration history in INPA?
I had a "German specialist" indy replace my battery in Jan before I even thought about touching my car's DME with a ten foot pole. Since then I've had nothing but battery drainage, low voltage issues, IBS/power management codes, and these knuckleheads can't figure out what's wrong. My guess is that it all goes back to the battery install. I already looked in the INPA IBS menu and saw that my car is still coded to a 90ah battery even though they put in a 70ah replacement. I'd like to see if they even registered it because they definitely charged me for it. I'll fix it myself but need evidence so I can get some scrilla back from them. Thanks. |

Thanks for the reply. I think you can see registration history in DIS but it first requires that you register the battery again. I'll see what I can come up with.
EDIT: if you can run DIS you can view the registration history w/out actually registering http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/att...8&d=1291606974 Now, getting DIS to run is another story. Last edited by ellipsis212; 04-09-2013 at 01:48 PM.. |

I've seen it in inpa on the IBS info page. It records the odometer reading for the first 4 or 5 battery registrations. I don't know what happens when you try to exceed that number of total registrations. Not sure I would want to try,

Thank you! I'll browse through those IBS info pages again tonight. I just wasn't sure what some of the info meant since it wuz written for ze Germanz.
I'm bringing it back to my silly indy shop tomorrow and I'm going to give them a screenshot showing that they 1) didn't program my car for the new 70Ah battery they installed and (likely) 2) they never registered the battery. At this point in the game I think the battery I have is probably going to have short lifespan from all the time it has spent in a low SoC. Hopefully they'll man up and replace it free of "charge." Ha ha. See what I just did there? Sorry. |

Confirmed. Here's a screenshot from INPA showing my 2006 330i's recent battery registration. It's in one of the IBS status PM field menus (there are 3).
