Hi guys,

Just 2 weeks back I ordered my BMW F30 316D Sportsline. Do you guys know what type of Instrument cluster will I get with the car. I do have the Auto start and go function and I also have the ACC in the car. They both came standard I only upgraded to Auto Gearbox. I dont want the analogue cluster but not sure what will I get. Any one of you know please?

Unless you specifically ordered something that included the full black control panel I thought you got analogue cluster as standard?

Reminds me - on the full black display pack, does anything ever actually display in the section at the bottom of the left analogue dial? Also, only thing that does annoy me is how you can see the outline of the large rectangular bit the main displays appear within.

So if its the Analog Cluster I'm getting then how will I see the Eco Pro display (in their BMW brocure its stated that ECO pro options shows under right cluster) and if I've the MPG analog under right cluster (image 1) how will I see the options. My understanding was I will get the cluster like image 2.

U can see ECO PRO information on the idrive screen.

You are getting the cluster on the left, not the Extended.

You can keep asking/hoping but I promise you the car is coming with the analog cluster unless you have certain packages which you didn't pay for.

Ah thats very sad, when I configure the car there is no option or mentioned anywhere about this. There is only one option of "Black panel display, full" which does not say anything of what you will get with it and there is no info where it says what will you get without selecting "Black panel display" option.

So as it is confirmed I'm getting the analog cluster, what if I want to upgrade the instrument cluster with Extended one? will be a big job? is it even possible to do it or it will be not compatible with my car at all?

Black panel display is standard with certain options, like Pro Nav for example. You can opt for black panel display on its own, roughly £140 from memory. Does make the cluster a nicer thing to look at.

Probably going to require alot of wiring etc, not going to be an easy plug n play swap I think, but not sure on that.

Premium Package, Tech Package, Active Cruise, or Nav alone i believe are all that triggers the addon, which is 6WA

if they haven't built it yet you could always ask the dealer to try and add. No point in retrofitting, im sure it would be expensive for little gain and im not sure if they can even do this. Last time i looked on the uk configuration site you could only get full black planel display on the 3 series not full multifunctional display as you have in your photo...thats only available on 5-ers in the uk i think as a £510 option!

My car was ordered on 19th March so I think its already too late for adding anything. Still just sent a mail to dealer and see what status my car is if still I can add I will add the Black Penal Display Full" and its only 200 Euros. I didnt know this in starting otherwise would have added that time. Now all on luck if car is on 1200 status I can add or change anything (Which I dont think is the case as its been ordered on 19th) and if its on 5055 Status than no chance to add . Lets wait to see what dealer come up with.

And here is the image of configurator which only shows "Black Panel Display Full" option but do not say anything about enhanced display or graphics info. What it say in description I guess can be found in normal analog cluster too. So its very confusing.

It is very likely the spec of an Irish car will be different to the UK spec, the guys on here will be answering for UK cars.

Hmm, looking at the picture above I don't think I have any display in the left bit (the km/hr side)??????

yes it has a 2ltr Diesel engine. (N47 2.0d)

5 and 6 series only I believe.

BMW manage to make it confusing... because the 316d is a 2.0L while the 316i is a 1.6L.

So what does the panel look like on M sport if you don't have black panel display, if not got the black panel display do you just get the old gauge life e90 for mpg and not the nice blue eco pro lcd screen, thanks Derek
