Question Creaking when going slow over speed bumps

Hi there,

For a while now I've had noise of a creaking nature coming from the front of the car as I go over a speed bumps at the supermarket. The rear of the car does not result in the same noise when it goes over the bumps.

Am I right to think this is anti roll bar bushes or drop links?

I need to do some work on the car soon so I can get the parts in and fix this.

Car: BMW E90 320i Pre-LCI. 2006.

Thanks!

Most likely the ARB bushes. My 330d (2006) needed them at less than 20k miles. Same thing over speed bumps. If it changes with conditions... (damp seems to set if off), pretty sure it will be the bushes.

You could try a squirt of silicon, that may shut them up, if they are not worn out.

There is another thread on this. I had the same problem and BMW changed the bushes, top mounts etc and this never solved the problem. Gave up with them in the end.....

Front strut bump stops possibly. My drivers side is noisy going up and down speed bumps but no other time.
Already had the passenger side done so that's how I know.

I recently had my ARB bushes changed for this reason under warranty and the "squeak" has now gone.
