I'm using in for fault codes and reset. It took me a week to install it. But it works. If you using windows 7 64 bit is even harder to install it. I tried on 64 with no luck. Then on 32 bit (my old laptop) no problem.

Yes - I have used a similar cable together with the INPA and DIS software to read the technical codes to help me diagnose my ABS/DSC faults.
I used INPA for the brake bleeding process after the ABS/DSC unit was rebuilt. I also used the DIS software to read the DPF back-pressures which gave me the comfort that, despite the car having covered 142,000 miles and showing a remaining life of 14,000 miles for the DPF, the DPF is hardly clogged and actually good for another 120,000 miles or so. I also discovered a fault code indicating that the fogging sensor had failed in the module located around the rear view mirror. I traced this back to when my windscreen was replaced by Autoglass. I called them and they asked me to pop in and they replaced the fogging sensor without question. These cost around £60.00. I spent many hours setting up the software (I downloaded from various sources) and building a number of VMs which now do the job. Having a spare laptop is handy - as well as an interest in IT. I guess I have made some decent use of it as well. Just be careful it doesn't take over your life - I have a code showing that one of the glow-plugs has failed and I keep thinking about replacing it - but the car starts perfectly no matter what the outside temp. I am also showing a fault with the "Additional Water Pump" but the heating works fine - especially since I replaced the thermostats. You can end up being a slave to the technology if you are not careful.
