Non Leather interior detail
What do you guys use to clean/detail the interior of the car, specifically the areas that aren't leather (radio area, dashboard, parts of the doorts, etc).
It's simple enough to dust it with a towel but what about protection? I used armor all protectant wipes when I first got it and I swear it seemed to stain part of the door. It's been 6 months and part of it is darker than the rest when in direct sunlight. |

+1. I hate anything that's slick and greasy. 1Z is by far the best interior cleaner i've used. Dry to the touch and leaves a pretty nice "clean" scent. You can also use 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I had the same question, and after doing some research and reading reviews on which products to use, ordered this 1Z interior kit. It's a great deal as opposed to buying them separately.

Does the 1Z 'protect' or just clean? I'd obviously want to do both although I'm probably more worried about protecting as it's just dust that I'd be cleaning 99% of the time.

It protects but i'm not sure how good. That's why you can get 303 if you're worried about protection. I wouldn't worry too much about cracking and etc on a BMW though. My mom never wash/clean her X5 and the dash is fine.

I'm looking for advice how to clean my dashboard.... I made the rookie mistake of taking it to a car wash and they used some sort of dashboard cleaner which has left a residue within the finish of the dashboard. It is almost milky looking in direct sunlight. I did not notice this until it baked in the sun and now appears to be very well ingrained into the dashboard. Any suggestions on a cleaner or solvents to remove the cleaner buildup within the dashboard material without having to do some serious elbow scrubbing and/or ruining the dashboard even more?
