M3 mirror rep

Does the M3 mirror rep exist? I am talking about the whole housing, does any vendor make them?

only know of one, but takes 3-4 weeks to manufacture then another 2 weeks or so to ship to you.

Just so you know a couple things about those NVDAutosport rep M3 mirror:
  • Manual Fold ONLY
  • They are 1-piece (not 2 piece like oem) - covers are NOT removeable
  • They do NOT come with mirror adjusting motor - you have to canibalize your OEM mirrors by cutting all wires to motor, and then mounting motor in new mirror housing and spicing wires
  • The glass IS heated, but not blue tinted as OEM - they are clear

Rep mirror pricing = $710 shipped. I just paid around the same for new OEM M3 mirrors, for my E92, Manual Fold, with Heated Blue Tint Glass, No Covers, from Tischer with their already good pricing & March Promotional Discounts

Of course, I also went with OEM BMW Performance CF Covers for another $500 from STBMW, but you could pick up the plain OEM paintable covers new for a little more than the price I paid for OEM housings/glass (or buy used from forum for even less)

Reps not worth the trouble for the small difference in price IMO...

I agree with what you said, but OEM M3 mirrors are really hard to come by for that price, especially for an e90. Trust me, I've been trying to hunt some down for a few months.

Actually, I'm still waiting on the new m3 mirrors - one was out of stock and needed to be sent from Germany.

As soon as I swap out, my original mirrors will be up for sale.

They are:
  • 2009 E92 Side Mirrors
  • Matte Black
  • Heated
  • Manual Fold
  • No Auto-Dim (Blue glass)
  • Space Gray Metallic Covers
I also have:
  • Xtra PS blue glass of the Aspheric variety that eliminates blindspot
  • Set of AutoTechnik Carbon Fiber Full Replacement Covers
  • Set of AutoTechnik Carbon Fiber Covers that attach w/3M tape over OEM Covers

Everything is in very good condition used for 24K miles - price will depend on exactly what you wanted as far as xtra glass or cf covers...

Like I stated - the housings are Matte Black, the covers are SGM

I'll PM you as soon as they are available - might be 2-3 weeks wait though

I checked new prices thru Tischer for basic >9/2010 E90 M3 mirrors (manual fold, no auto dim)
  • #51 16 8 052 635 Mirror, Heated w/Memory, Left $315.54
  • #51 16 8 052 636 Mirror, Heated w/Memory, Right $315.54
  • #51 16 8 045 067 Set Of Mirror Baseplate Covers $19.39
  • #51 16 8 044 793 Set of retaining elements $14.58
  • #51 16 8 046 507 Mirror Glass, Heated, Plane Left $58.52
  • #51 16 8 046 508 Mirror Glass, Heated, Convex, Right $87.78

Total = $811.34 minus March 'THAW25' Coupon Code = $786.34

and Evan will prolly give you free shipping - can't guarantee it, but he offers it to me occasionally

So that's $786 for new OEM vs. $710 for rep

> and with the rep you have to destroy your original mirrors (leaving them useless) - which you could sell on the forum if you bought the OEM mirrors and recoup around $250 of your expenditure - sounds like a winning plan to me

Of course you would need to pick up some used covers on forum or can get new for $120 for the set

What mirrors are that cheap? If mirrors were that price, I would buy the whole set in a heartbeat. I think your mirror parts/price is wrong. The mirrors are 220 for the left and 280 for the right.

I had to add "2" to the base because Tischer is out of stock on one side or they no longer make and distribute it since there was an "n/a" next to it

And the price is IF Evan give free shipping, but I doubt it. It would be an extra $60 for shipping

I use PenskeParts to find part numbers:

http://www.penskeparts.com/

and the prices came directly off Tischer site. You have the same pricing for most except you don't need (2) of the Plates for $19.39 as they come in a set for both sides, the glass you chose is NOT the Blue non auto dim glass so it is way more expensive. The glass I chose is correct for non auto dim/heated M3 glass. I chose that because we are comparing to the rep mirrors which use non auto dimming/heated clear glass

You have to compare apples to apples

Ran in to same problem when I ordered my mirrors last week - I wanted the Matte Black housings but one side was on backorder indefinitely with no word as to whether it would ever be made.

So I went with the Gloss Black Hosuings & they are still both available (at least for E92)

I'm setting here staring @ my Tischer invoice. My M3 mirrors for E92, in Gloss Black, with all hardware needed for install & blue heated glass came to $845 minus $50 discount = $795 with free shipping

And my mirrors are more expensive than yours at $342/ea instead of $316

Now like I said, I didn't include mirror cover cost because you can usually pick those up used for not much $$ on forum (mebbe even in the color you need) I didn't buy the regular covers - I went with the BMW Performance M3 CF Covers which were another $500
