Thule roof rack upgrade 460 to 460R

I have searched online and couldn't come up with a definite answer. Perhaps someone here has an answer.
I am looking to switch from square bars to aero blades. Aero blades require 460 Rapid Podium foot pack vs 460 podium for the square bars. I checked the spare part list on Thule web site and it appears that the 460 Rapid Podium feet can be purchased for 16.50/ea, without any plastic covers or locks. Is it possible to swap them out without having have to buy the whole new set?

Hola.

I have the 460R aero set from Thule on my ride. When I purchased them 2 years ago, they were completely different parts and not interchangable . I recall them not being compatible with each other and it was one or the other - so I went with the lower R's/aeroblades for the look and newer technology. Hope that helps -

Thanks for the reply. I ended up writing to Thule customer service. According to their response if you have 460 podium foot pack you can just purchase a set of 460 rapid podium feet (part number 7520873001) at 16.50/piece as spare parts and keep the original fit kit, plastic covers and lock mechanisms. Hopefully someone finds this helpful in the future.
