M sport LINE not pack but M sport Line

Was by the dealer today looking for some info, as I am considering trading in my 128i and stepping up to a 3 series sedan or upcoming 4 series. Anyway the guy there showed me email that showed that there is M sportline , replacing the M sport pack (only avail on the 335i sedan). He informed me that this new line would be available on the 320i and 328i sedan as well. He even showed an email from BMW that from jan 24th that would be case. However I can't find any info online here about this being avail on 320i or 328i. Am I missing something?

I don't think the content for the 335 M Sport "package" has changed, but the name looks to have been changed to "M Sport Line". The order code changed from ZWR to ZWS & 337 along with the name change. I just saw this difference the other day when confirming my order.

As for the other model lines, I can't comment. But I would expect that this will certainly be available for the 328 soon. Not so sure about the 320 though.

These Msport lines are available now in the US, I wrote earlier this month to BMW Canada to complain about limited choices we have here. I got the usual answer, smaller market, not enough demand bla bla bla... I really hope we can have M on the 328 sedan, at least we know it's coming on the touring...

On my order sheet, it says "ZMM M Sport .... $3200" near the top. Down below, it says, "337 M Sport Package", and then lists out all of the items that come with it below. This is all for a U.S. spec 2013 335i Sedan.

This is as of Feb 19th, so only 3 days ago.

If someone can confirm that we can order an M package for a 328i (without special ordering), I'm ordering one for European delivery this summer!

Did he say when this would take effect?

So I confirmed some issues with dealership on this matter. First the guy I was talking to was not regular guy I bought my car from but a newbie salesman. This guy seemed to not have all his info there. The M sport Pack previously only avail in Canada on the 335i was basically renamed the M sport Line and only for this model for 335i, not for 328i or 320i. However after talking to my regular guy, there is potential for the 2014 model year that the M sport will make its way to the 328i, but that will not be until June or so when new model year info released.

I also find it somewhat disconcerting that BMW would not offer the M sport pack on the 328i here in Canada. Using some excuse that we are a smaller market etc. this does not fly very well with me. First checking out the Australia market, smaller than Canada, and cars requiring right hand drive layout, they can get this on their 328i and even 320i! Second, we maybe a smaller market but we are right beside the USA, the world's largest car market. The cars between our countries are very similar, with only minor differences, you mean to tell me that BMW could not have option for those that want an M sport pack on a 328i in Canada would have that much trouble to get it, even if they special order their car? Why would they deny our country out of all in world this? I just hope for 2014 they get their act together, I am not interested in a 328i classic line or simple modern line, I want the M sportline on the 328i that is all.

I know it's quite stupid they don't simply give similar packaging options as the US. Oh well I hope they have the M-sport on the 328i by the time my lease is up.

Their strategy is pretty simple: restrict the option to the higher priced model so that those who want it will move up to the 335i. It really has nothing to do with the size of our market, except to the extent that BMW know that they can get away with more gouging with the polite Canadians than in the US market.

My thoughts exactly. We Canadians are pushovers in the consumer market. They charge "what the market will bear" we bend over.

Who is the new guy and who is the normal guy? I am assuming this is BMW London.

Anyway I got screwed around a bit by BMW canda when I placed my order too. I ordered burl walnut then the dealership is told by BMW canada that burl walnut is not available with M sport even though the glossy catalogues, the BMW website, and the dealership's configuration program all allowed it. it's only the program that the BMW canada enters the order in to be sent to Germany that restricts it. Or so they say. BS
