Downpipe fitment issue (v-clamp won't close)
So I finally got around to installing my downpipes but I am having a issue with the longer downpipe (front turbo). I can't get the v-clamp to close on the pipe/turbo flanges because the Downpipe flange doesn't sit flush against the turbo. On one side it is flush, but on the other side there is a small gap about halfway around the pipe. Even though the v-clamp grabs both, it does not close because the flanges are not tight enough.
Has anyone encountered this? Are there any suggestions or do I need to replace the downpipe because of a poor fit? I will try posting pictures tomorrow. Thanks in advance for the help. |

turned out to be a defective pipe. i swapped it out for a different one and everything it great now. v-clamp is closed to about 1/4" with nothing touching. No noises or vibrations and im loving the new feel. i never realized the sound of the turbos would become so much more noticable. can't wait to test the additional power once it gets above 10 degrees in NY

I had a similar issue, the clamp was slightly warped and was very close to starting to thread but wouldnt. After 3+ hours i ended up making sure it was completely on, then using pliers to close it. It worked perfectly and without much resistance. No exhaust leak after several hundred miles

any smells in the cabin at all? the awful new downpipe smell went away after 2 days, but i still get a burning smell when i park in the garage. i'm thinking it might need a few more days unless i have a leak. everything sounds good tho.
