06 hifi radio in an 09

I bought a used 335i that came with an aftermarket headunit. OEM radio is long gone, I want to so some coding and I want to be able to go to dealer for some updates.

I bought an oem professional headunit came from an 06 HIFI, can I code it to work or do I need an 09 head unit?

I have installed 06 headunit and radio, cd and sound work, however PDC, door chimes and any other car sounds do not work.

I have a cable and INPA kinda working (I coded out active headrests successfully) Where can I go from here?

How important are computer updates from dealer? I do not have SOS or Assist maybe I just go aftermarket headunit and forget this headunit and dealer visits?

how do you code out active headrests? :P

you have to do an SG_RESET on the new HU to make it match your car (read VO from CAS before that). And you must code the Kombi :
HU_VERBAUT_C08
from radiostufe_3_4 to radiostufe_1_2

Similar for PDC, although I don't know exactly what you must do

Active headrests came in my fake leather interior but I swapped out for 08 navillo leather without active so... I changed to nik_aktiv and no more seatbelt and airbag warning.

I am very novice at the coding, I will give a try on what is explained above. Are there any threads with more detail?

I did search a number of times but did not come accross anything, I will continue to search.

I need to know what line did you change, I imagine it's not called "activeheadrests"
Also in what ECU did you make the changes

Sorry,

ABG module

AKS_LINKS_1_CD
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is the left side active head restraint.)

AKS_RECHTS_1_CD
aktiv (Make this nicht_aktiv, this is the right side active head restraint.)

It was my first coding I did, it was fun to see the stupid lights go out Airbag and seatbelt lights are not fun to look at.

I need to bump this back up.

I went to dealer for HPFP recall program updates and they had the car for 5 days and couldn't get the updates to work. I am pretty sure it's because of the head unit.

I am a noob, I have inpa working but am undable to read rad2...

I would really like to get the update.

Secondly the HIFI amplifier I have installed came out of another car too, do I need to code it as well???
