Voice Control
What are your thoughts on Voice Control? I think it works well, although I rarely use it. It's quite easy to input a destination with it too - I should use it more often!

Dunno. Not really found a use for it. It's not as clever as Siri. I say "phone the wife" and it has no idea what I'm saying. I have to say "telephone" then wait for it to process that. Then say blah blah. In fact, it's pretty shit what I've seen so far.

My CA was so excited to show me the voice control when we got the car delivered. That was the first feature he wanted to show us. He couldn't even get the car to understand the address to the dealership. After 5 unsuccessful tries, my wife finally said.. "Uh... can we move on. I don't think we'll be using that." I tried using it a couple times after that... all unsuccessful. Literally, my dog understands more words.

It's useful for the commands it gets right, e.g. at night I find the iDrive screen distracting if I don't need the nav feature, so it's easy to just say "switch off display". However a lot of the other commands simply don't register correctly. I've yet to be able to successfully enter a destination for the sat nav using just voice!

I love it. But I'm also frustrated by it. In my E90, you could say, "random mode" when playing a device. In the F30, there's no equivalent voice command.

I only use it for address input, which has actually worked surprisingly well. It could even be wrong a few times and still be faster than inputting letters via iDrive controller.
At the end of the day, just much faster to send it from google maps on the phone |

I only use it in my E82 to do basic things like 'stop guidance', 'messages', 'last destinations', 'phonebook'. It would be better if you could enter a postcode straight away, not just the 'one shot' full address; and it often doesn't hear you properly, and does seem archaic compared to e.g. Siri.
It's handy sometimes when you're e.g. Driving in an unfamiliar city and need to keep your eyes on the road; but much of the time I've found it's quicker to use the iDrive controller!
