Angry fawkin state trooper planes

Figures all the times I drove back and forth from Cleveland to Columbus for school and I never once got a speeding ticket.

I drive down for a business meeting and get a damn speeding ticket from a fucking trooper plane:mad: 84 in a 65. I'm thinking about fighting it just for the purpose of getting the points dropped. I have to go to Morrow County courts in Mt. Gilead, which depending on how the court works there will depend on if I'll fight it or not. If I can mail in my plea I'm fightin, if not I'm not about to drive down twice. Once to plea and another time to fight isn't worth it. I'll spend that much in gas and time, as I would in paying the fine and the minor insurance increase.

I hate speeding tickets, there not about safety anymore, it's all about the $$$$. A ticket from a god damn plane is even more about the $$$$.

On the other hand the meeting went exceptionally well and my business should be growing very nicely

Don't speed and you won't get a ticket. I just received a ticket on 3 August. It was waiverable, so I called it in and paid for it via credit card. Both the police officer and the clerk were polite to me. I even sent an e-mail to the Avon Chief of Police to thank the polite police officer.

It's always easy to get upset over being cited for speeding, but safety inspired or not, it's still a law. If you fight the ticket, you will get another court date. A not guilty plea is not settled the first time you go to court. The benefit of pleading not guilty means you can speak to the prosecutor at the next hearing and he can help work out something that can work for the both of you. Also, points are assessed by the BMV, not the judge. The judge merely sends along the guilty verdict.

My fine only cost me $90 for doing 80 in a 65. I would rather have the $90, but I know I could have avoided it by not speeding.

Speeding tickets aren't as stupid as the two I just got...

**Anyone in Chicago who takes their car to Gold Coast car wash be on the lookout for a cop who sits across the street.**

I just got a ticket (moving violation) for having tinted windows and no front plate...what bs. Wasn't speeding, didn't run a light/stop sign, always wear my belts. And although you can pay the $50 no front plate ticket online (which he wrote as a parking ticket) they take your license for having tinted windows. Already went to court and had it dismissed...no fine. Waste of time all around...well, more the city since I work down the street from the county courthouse.

BTW, I've seen that same cop on Orleans since. He sits across from the car wash since its clients are mainly high end non-US cars with no front plates and tinted windows. The owner also said he gives tickets for incomplete stops (who stops at the stop signs in Chicago anyways?) and for talking on your phone (I actually agree with that one..drive your car and talk at home).

I also speed on the highway and expect to get caught from time to time.

Well, when he is giving the next no front plate ticket, someone can go put bananas up his cruisers tailpipe

I know too well

Thats funny you talk about getting caught in Mt Gilead...i used to travel that route (I-71) about twice a month visiting home (North Ridgeville) while attending Ohio State. Sure glad i had a beater car then which vibrated when I went over 75 mph..LOL

I make the trip to Columbus a few times a year to watch OSU football games and I guess i better watch out for those planes becuse last time i drove down there i went about 85 mph in my 325i.. I think I'm gonna make the front passenger lay back and look out the sunroof for planes the entire trip!!!.

Take it to court, at least make them earn the money.

If they've got the violent crime and felonies down to a manageable level, or eliminated, I wouldn't have such a hard time with the traffic cops. But when my car is getting broken into on a regular basis, robbery and homocide is on the increase, and violent crime is at an all-time high, why the F**K are we spending money for an F*****G PLANE! Pisses me off.

Ok, I'm done ranting now. Back to speeding.

My first ticket came in Mt. Gilead. I was in HS going down to visit a girl at Ohio State. Was ticketed for doing 93 in a 65. I wanted to protest, my parents said tough, pay the ticket, and took the license for 1 month.

The only reason I wanted to fight is my piece of shit 1987 Ford Escort couldn't hit 80 going downhill with a tail wind!

Sorry for the off-topic, but about 15 years ago, my uncle had a Dodge Omni that couldn't even do 60 mph when going up one of the local bridges. That thing was a dog!

Yeah bro watch out. I didn't see many troopers that morning until the one in my rear view, then I saw more then I wanted .

BTW, when did you graduate? I went to Otterbein but was at OSU so often that some people thought I went to OSU. Where are you living in the Cleveland area?

It is rather shitty with all the crime that the state still has the money to operate a fleet of planes to catch speeders. Oh well. I was never ticketed by a trooper my 4 years of driving back and forth from school until now, figures.

It's funny you mention getting your first ticket, I only got 1 ticket in my first car of the 5 years of ownership. It was a 1990 Jeep Wrangler, that thing had the aerodynamics of a brick. My other tickets came when I was borrowing my parents cars that were a tad easier to get up to speed.
