Z4 35i DCT with Decat DP, FMIC and Evolve Stage 2 tune
Evolve customer and Zpost member TheHulk visited us to take his car to the next level. He had been running a Stage 1 Evolve Tune for a while but wanted a bit more.
After he had sourced and fitted his catless DP's and FMIC he visited us to apply our Stage 2 Tune with the use of our Evolve-R end user cable. We will be setting up a intro deal on the Evolve-R and tune for the Z4 35i shortly in the commercial section. Here are some pictures of his car. The car also has H&R suspension and Supersprint Rear Exhaust. Dyno Graphs from our Dynodynamics Dyno. Baseline is with DP's, FMIC, CAI and Exhaust. Wow that car looks superb
The guys at Evolve are amazing to deal with and always really helpful. Would recommend them to anyone wanting to tune their BMW. Last edited by The_Hulk; 10-18-2012 at 11:38 AM.. |

I really want to know if the Evolve tune is better than the ESS tune for my 35is which is stock. ESS havent offered any updates to the tune since I got it over nearly 2 years ago which is dissapointing considering the investment and potential.
So which is better Evolve or ESS for a stock car? |

The power output is near enough the same from both tuners, i have been running stage 1 on my car for over a year with no problems.
Stage 2 is just amazing, the car drives as stock till you plant you foot and then all hell breaks loose. Evolve is continuously improving their maps as the are currently working on a 1M project. They are planning a twin turbo replacement for the N54 with a estimated 550hp |

I would not go for more power without better intercooler, oilcooler and remap the waterpump. And you could order a custom tune aswell from Ess. I think Ess tunes perfect, safe and enough to kill M3 342hp on the track with everything stock except r-tires and racepads! And still have all the protections working with the tune. I have had the car updated at the shop and got new tunefiles within less than 24 hours from Ess. Even on a Sunday! Not many companies have this kind of support. I am totally satisfied with the Ess tune! Regards Nothing bad about Evolve. I just don't know about their tunes. Last edited by SHADOW4; 07-19-2013 at 04:23 AM.. |

Cobb stage 2 is 371 at the wheels and 417 tq with the same mods. I personally don't have a dyno of the Cobb race map but I have seen others, which is about 400 at the wheels and 440 tq.
