Lighting Wiring

Ok, so i swapped my 04 xenon lights over with 07 xenons

In doing so I lose the 55w H7 bulb and it changes to a 5w sidelight lol

This still comes on as it shuld but I as it is so weak I lose my high beam flash.

Not only that sometimes when the high beam is on the bulb fault light comes on until I switch off the ignition, but sometimes it goes off again.

Is this fault due to incorrect resistance from the bulb?

If so, could wiring up a set of fog lights cure this?

If so, can I connect it to my existing fog lights...my concern being if my high beam is on and then I put my fogs on won't that short something out?

The general consensus is to NOT swap older generation headlights (03-05) for newer headlights (06+) as the wiring is quite different.

You say that but everything works as it should apart from the bulb fault light and lack of high beam flash.
I still have high beam just only when I push the light stalk forward.

Same number of bulbs, fits perfectly and they look great...just want to iron out these two problems...the buld out fault being the main one.

The wiring inside the housing is different. It's been done before, but the it was generally said that it was a royal pain to redo the wiring inside the light housings to make it work.
