Replaced stock wheels and RFTs with non-RFTs and Beyern 5s yesterday
Flat tire monitor and/or TPM (tire pressure monitor) comes on and I can't reset it in accordance with the manual. Is there a trick to this or do I need to just suck it up and drive 60 miles to the closest dealer?

They are attached to the valve stem inside the wheel. A bit smaller than a cell phone. If you want to transfer your TPMS sensors to the new wheels, your stock wheels/tires would have to be broken down in order to remove the sensors. Then your new wheels would also have to be broken down to install.

Nothing should break down when transferring the TPMS from one wheel to another - if it does, the tire shop should pay for it... |

Yes, "unmounted" if that's what you would like to call it. Tire shops call it broken down, as you don't actually have to remove the tire from the rim, just "break the bead" to access the TPMS sensor.

I replaced my 162's with Beyern 5s as well, but retained the RFT's. Tire shop did a great job with TPMS. It's a small chip implanted in the stem valve and very fragile, hence easily broken. Most respectable tire shops aware of this and they're very careful when handling TPMS.
