all radar detectors are legal. as long as it doesnt interfere with the police signal it's fine. cant speak to the V1, many people swear by it, but I use the passport 8500, it's cheaper and doesn't look as funky.

it's a radar detector. i had a passport 8500 x50 and found it annoying that i had no arrows, but then agian, i just hated the radar detector in general. a lot of cops roll around w/o radar on in the city and even sometimes on the freeways and the false alarms were unbearable. i jsut use my eyes and watch and slow down around bends. havne't been pulled over for speeding yet.

Radar Detectors are only illegal in Washington D.C. and Virginia (if my memory serves correct).

Radar Jammers, on the other hand, are illegal in 15+ states in the U.S. California being one of them.

If someone else can provide the SKU/UPC I think Mantis would have all his answers; I would provide but I'm no where near my car or V1 box (which is at least three 8 hour plane rides away).

Instead of spending around $400, just slow down a little and save money. Whether you are going 70 or 80, you are only gonna gain a few minutes at the end.
Or at least speed only where you know popo's aren't hiding.
I have no radar and haven't got any tickets yet. *Knock knock knock on a wood*

You are not really spending $400 because the resale value of the V1 is so high you can sell it for $350 after years. I think it is a good investment if you like to drive fast, but I personally can't stand the cord connecting the radar and the cigarette lighter.

it's not just driving fast. it's stopping at stop signs, signaling and a whole bunch of things that you might be doing 99.99999% of your time, but for ONCE you forget or something and you get busted. i'd really wanna know when popos are around man

They are good radar detectors, i have one i would recomend it, becuase even though there are many things that you could get caught for this one might save your ass that one time, therefore saving you from alot of insurance costs.
