Sick of driving in Toronto...
So by now i am probably the most hit and run e90 on this forum...
June 19, 2011 Picking up family from Go Train station at Yonge and 7. in the parking lot there's a stop sign before making a left/right turn onto the street. Sienna rear ends me as i get out of the car (thinking he would do the same) he backs up and makes a left turn onto the street and gets away. Got his license plate but everyone was in a rush to leave no one cared to be a witness and when i took to the YRP they said if i can get a witness they will find the guy and charge him for hit and run + pay for my damage. no luck there. [Get a picture of the damage later] September 20, 2011 Was on DVP going south following a Go bus when the go bus sucked up a piece of debris of what looked like a vote for liberals sign and hit the front passenger side of my bumper... end up with this Today, September 2, 2012 Parked on the street at a friends house by Majormac and Mcowan. went inside for bit and then heard a thump and some kids screaming "run". looked out the window to see 3 skateboarders bolting away from my car i instantly knew one of them hit my car. went outside to take a look my driver side skirt is totally f*cked. paint is gone, skirt is a bit deformed.. Ontop of these 3 damages, i have multiple dings on my doors from incompetent asian drivers who have no care when opening their doors at parking lots. Watched one lady falcon kick her corolla door open into mine and i instantly ran out of my work place and flipped shit on her and got 900 bucks for repairs. thats probably the only time i caught someone damaging my car. Every body shop i go to tells me its 300 per panel to repaint, thats 900 bucks in damages from assholes in GTA area. I'm honestly getting so god damned frustrated driving in this city. Top it all off, the car is a lease so i must repair the car when i return it without being f*cked up the ass by the dealer. Thats the only reason i havent gotten Mtech, because Mtech + paint + repaint oem bumpers is jsut way too damn much... |

Sry to hear dude, I feel your pain.
GTA is brutal and that's why insurance premiums are highest in these areas. Maybe you should start driving a corolla and bang everyone else back!! |

2 of your 3 incidents actually occurred outside of Toronto. Maybe you should switch to the TTC?

Ouch, like being kicked in the left, then right and then left testicle.
Hopefully you will find a good body shop 2-3 weeks prior to lease return and inspection. When I returned my leased A4, the inspector was running the paint thickness meter all over my car.

Two weeks ago me and my brother parked our cars on the street because we were doing tree-trimming. We come outside after lunch to find a 'Markham' driver trying to show his son how to parallel park in between our two cars. I have a 335i and my bro has a Porsche Targa. Are you fucking kidding me I LOST my shit.... what a joke I wish I had cut a massive branch down before lunch I would have tossed it at their car.
I feel your pain man.... this is the reason I will park in the farthest part of any parking lot if possible. People just don't fucking care when its not their car and please don't even get me started with some of the 'Markham' drivers. Last edited by shaginwagon13; 09-02-2012 at 10:17 PM.. |

Dude. I totally feel your pain! Sorry to hear about your ride. Looks like the only vehicles that can survive in Toronto are those ugly ass Honda Elements with the plastic fenders!

Been there, done that. Smashed into a pylon on the 401 just east of the DVP a few months after getting my car (fell off some douche's pickup..wasn't secured). Broke my Front lower grille.
Most recently got my rear bumper completely redone by European Auto and it was flawless and beautiful...for about 3months. Then some douche nozzle decided to smack my bumper with what seems to be a shopping cart or something. These things are unavoidable sometimes.....but it especially burns if your car is not a daily driver (mine is not anymore). C'est la vie. |

There are some options...
Buy a cheap car where you don't care Use Public transportation Move to a different city/province Don't drive It does sucks I agree with you but at the end of the day its up to you, how you handle the situation. It is what it is, life goes on...

Mississauga is slowly and surely becoming just as bad but because of the much lower volume of cars, probability isn't as bad. I now have dings/damage on all four sides of my car.

Life in the Big City
This is not a Toronto or GTA problem... but a big city problem.
When you live in a big city there will be idiots that can't drive, kids playing on the street, vandals, construction etc. I know it doesn't make you feel any better but that's the reality.
