Crazy story with dealerships

07 e90 did not start. Had it towed to a BMW dealer which I won't mention yet.
An acquaintence was the mechanic at bmw and told me he would fix it on the side and save me some money. Long story short I found out the part was under CPo and he was trying to pass it off like it wasn't. End result got repaired under CPo and I have a receipt.
As I'm driving off check engine light comes on I drive it back into him and he checks and says oxygen sensors need to be changed. I said leave it.
Car drives fine for 1.5 mths.
It does on me near yeaterday near another dealer so I take it in.
They call me back and tell me my oxygen sensor fuse was missing and it caused 2 parts to fail one being the crankcase heating element.
Total repairs 1900.

What would u guys do.

WHat would you guys do?

Sorry for the typos. Posted this from my iPhone

I meant to say it died on me yesterday Near another dealer.

The original dealer who caused the problem has not convinced me they accept responsibility and wants the car to be transferred from the other dealership.

I would start a log detailing everything and call up BMW North America first thing this morning. Make sure you have the name of the technician. Don't feel like you need to protect anyone or not "throw them under the bus" - you need to do whats in your best interest in this case as they are trying to screw you over.

What a bunch of scumbags.
Call BMW of canada and file a complaint against the dealer. They will lose allocations and BMW should cover you for the repairs, since this is effectively an attempt at extortion.

I am baffled at the fact that your car operated without an O2 sensor for over a month with no issues.

I Didnt Notice any problems aside from the check engine light blasting my face
Quick update.

Endras BMW where I towed my car to was able to help me out.
They fixed the car for $500 replacing most components under the cpo. I am picking the car up now. I believe they replaced the crank heater element amongst other things.
Will confirm once I get the work order

I will call BMW na to deal with it like u guys suggested.
Will update

Thanks

^ Even though they helped you out, I would goto another dealer. The original one sounds very shady.

I think $500 was a cheap lesson considering you were riding on the CEL after a no-start CPO repair.

And I believe you should name the first dealer so the community can avoid them, no need to name the tech just the dealer.

Engrish prease.

Don't ever drive around with bad O2 senors, f*cks up your catalytic converter. In the US O2 are covered 80k/8yrs, not sure about the Great White.

I'm assuming it was ~$500 total repairs, some of which were covered by CPO and the $50 deductible. Could be wrong here.
