1st time owner, 2012 335i Sport Line
Hi Everyone First time owner, just purchased a 2012 335i in mineral grey metallic, pick it up on Thursday from Endras BMW in Ajax. Would appreciate any feedback on issues anyone has faced as well as tips for accessories such as winter tire packages, run flat tires vs non run flat. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Winter tire package from the dealer will be expensive, you are prob. looking at around $3000 + HST + installation.
If you are smart, do negotiate with your dealer on the day of picking up the car. The typical markup for factory winter set is around 35% - 40%, therefore, if you are able to get if for say 15-20% off the list price, then you are considered to be lucky. But do check out alternative options on aftermarket setup as well, for this setup, you are probably looking at $2000 - $2500 (all incl.) |

Congratulations on the new ride!
I've gotten a very similar vehicle (MG Sport Line 335i) and so far it seems no major issues. Just remember, you'll get poor mileage on the first few tanks of gas. |

Thanks Bobblehead for the reply. My first choice for winter tire packages of course would be aftermarket. They have some pretty good packages at places like Van Hemmen Tire in Whitby or Tire Depot in Ajax. Don't know too many in the Toronto area.
I could also order from Tire Rack but with the hassle of shipping it might not be worth it. The last thing I want to do is purchase from the dealer unless their blowing them out cheap. But I will ask when I pickup the car thanks.

Thanks Raspartan. Once the break in period is over (is it 2K Kms??) how many Kms can you expect to get on a full tank driving in Eco mode? A 60 L tank is pretty small, at least compared to what I've been driving before.

Here is one you can check their prices compared to your local shops
I have bought from them before and their prices beat everyone elses. http://www.joycitytires.com/ Major intersection (Steeles/Woodbine in Markham) Quote:

Tks Bobblehead...took a look at the prices for Michelin tires on BMW rims and the price is not too shabby...I'll give them a call thank you.

When shopping for aftermarket wheels, you will need to know what factory offsets you have because the F30 is too new for many shops to have any knowledge.
You don't want any issues after paying for a set of aftermarket wheels, drive out and realized they are the wrong fitment. |

If you have square setup right now:
F & R: 18 * 8 et 34 If you upgraded to staggered setup with 19": F: 19 * 8 et 36 R: 19 * 8.5 et 47 This is important when shopping for aftermarket wheels. Wrong fitment may result in clearance issue such as wheel rubbing against the fender and/or strut |

Break-in period is 2000 km. Mileage will depend largely on your driving style of course, but I don't have any experience driving mostly in Eco Pro. If you search the forums however there is a thread from a Canadian who did that as an experiment and got really good mileage as I recall.

That's awesome! But I doubt I'll be able to drive around in ecopro mode all the time...my wife will, but I won't...
Thanks
