Depo Angel Eyes - Installing LED rings?
Guys, looking to get these Depo Angel Eyes for my e90
But i would really like to install proper LED rings like in the headlights in the picture above. Now to do this i understand you need to open up the headlight and wire led rings into it. Would any good auto-electrician be able to do this for me? Also, would these work? What size of rings do i need? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Angel-...#ht_1617wt_905 |

Not sure the LED 8k markers can be installed in the CCFL headlights.. |

dont like those carmodshop ones mate, they look very cheap and very aftermarket.
8k marker bulbs will be too blue, i'd be going for the 6k. Which headlights do you mean by CCFL headlights? |

To be honest mate ive been searchin for couple months now and havent really found anything n still confused about which type to buy!
From what i was told if you buy headlights with LED rings then you cannot change the brightness of them. But if you buy headlamps where the angel eye rings are "bulb powered" then you can change those to differant tempe to make them brighter etc.. Not sure if this 100% though.. |

No you are right, you cant change the brightness of LEDs in the headlights, however when i said 6k i meant the actual OEM BMW rings, they use much the same technology as your high/low beam xenon gas bulbs, you can have them in pretty much any colour temp.

sorry i had missed your last post there which said basically what i said. CCFL is the lighting technology that BMW use for their OEM rings, i wasnt aware that you could get aftermarket headlights with CCFL

I don't see how they look OEM when the bulb is clearly visible on the outside - these must be halogen.
The LED rings might be alright but hows it going to be wired up. What would just activate the rings? If the xenon style light is full beam/dipped the rings and the halogen must be sidelights. You shouldn't be able to see any bulbs. Not sure if I'm looking at the right pic. Do yourself a favour and buy second hand pre LCI lights for like 6-700 quid and a HID bulb. The rings will be white depending on the temp you buy and you won't need the xenons, that's not the look I wanted but if all you want is white rings this is goin to be your best bet. Coly |

The only thing I can say is that my e93 320i m sport 07 does NOT illuminate and the bulb fits behind the angel eyes. My bulb illuminates both rings only.
I have 3 settings: Off Angel eyes only Angel eyes and xenons There is no light that emits from where your fittings show the bulb should be. I've just checked this from photos as my lights are with OSS right now an I'm waiting for them to come back. Both my lights have the xenon look and have the domed light exterior you cannot see any reflectors and cannot see any bulbs |

To whom it may concern:
in the photo of the factory BMW headlights, you cannot see the angel eye bulbs. Obviously, you can see the angel eyes lit up, but the bulb is hidden within the headlight. What you are seeing in the chromed area is the flash-to-pass bulb, which is only activated when the headlights are off, and you pull the high beam stalk towards you. If the headlights are on and you pull the stalk towards you, the bixenon projector flashes. On the DEPO headlights, those halogen lights are your high beams--unless you get a bixenon projector retrofit. |

You do have a halogen high beam bulb as well as Bi-Xenon high beam, as the Xenon high beam is unable to flash whenever the xenons are switched off. |

Keep hearing about losing "flash to pass". Here in the US, at least in my experience......we don't really flash high beams. It's not that big of a deal. And if you're in a beemer, in many cases "flashing to pass" just tips them off to be ready to cock-block you. That's why I don't use turn signals (other than "this is what I just did"). I see an opening, I take it. I signal...they just speed up and take the opening away. I hate those motherfuckers. Maybe when I do my octo-bi-xenon retrofit on my OEM halogens, I will wire it so the stalk lever flashes my angel eyes off/on to get peoples attention or maybe run it to a different super bright led array.
