Boost leak!!

Hey guys,

I'll make this quick because eventually I'll have to go to the mechanic anyways....

Recently I had my valves cleaned and put on some toys; ER CP/Tial BOV and Stett CAI. Prior to that I got a boost leak code under heavy load and got the dreaded engine malfunction code. It never happened again. After the valves got
cleaned and toys on I'm getting
them more often driving stock!!

I have to mention its been really hot lately. What other problems other then the known crappy stock CP's could be the issue?

Can you guys please lost common boost leak prone parts and their pricing?

Would be much appreciated.

You are getting leaks with your new CP/BOV? Check the connections?

Boost leaks are usually clamps or ORings. Check all the clamps on the new charge pipe, throttle body, bov connection, and importantly on the intercooler. Clean your hands and run them on the underside of each clamp point to feel for oil discharge. Our systems are oil ridden so a boost leak big enough to trigger a 30ff code usually is spraying oil also-
If you jack the car you can just pull off the lower engine cover and clearly visually inspect for leaks on the intercooler as oil will be present also.
The oem intercooler connections utilize o rings as well as the throttle body. Cheap and easy to replace.

Alternatively if your not inclined to get your hands dirty find a local shop to do a smoke test which with also clearly display the leaks.
