LV insurance

I seem to remember Liverpool Victoria got good reviews, plus if I get insurance with them, I can get a Meerkat, so that has got to be worth changing insurers for......

Anyway, I had a look at a couple of online review sites and there are a lot of negative reviews.

Anyone here used them, esp used them and claimed and can comment?

I think all insurance companies get negative reviews of some sort. But you have to go with someone in the end.

They quoted me 4k for my renewal next month when Admiral quotes 1100.

So I passed.

I'm with LV, easy to deal with (UK call centres), very good price (obviously this is circumstance dependant) - mods friendly, on their website they list mods you can select when doing an online quote. Remap was an additional £68 p.a. I think.

You can always find bad reviews for anyone online, that's where people vent their frustrations, my experience so far is positive.

But of course you will only know if they're any good if you need to make a claim, which I fortunately haven't done yet.

They are all just brokers at the end of the day, try companies like Adrian Flux or Chris Knott who will haggle a bit.

I'm currently with LV. Found them cheapest on a comparison site.
Not a lot to add to that. I pay them and they send me the documents. Touch wood I haven't had to contact them for anything.

Its very similar to tripAdvisor where you will find the perfect hotel with 5 star reviews throughout then you will notice a couple with 1 star and that will put you off.

Haha, that is very true.
I was looking at a hotel review the other night and everyone was rating it 5 out of 5, apart from one couple from Boston, they rated it 2 our of 5 because there were some children in the restaurant and then the next morning there were also two children in the pool!!
Oh, and the other problem was that it took them 10 minutes to walk to the restaurants in the harbour.

For a start the details said 'Harbour bars and restaurants 15 min walk, 3 minute drive.'

And I felt like writing back that I had a great stay apart from a couple of right cunts from Boston whose accent ruined my holiday!!

Oh, I am with LV, seem OK.

Mod friendly and allow full NCD on a second car, which is a bonus.

not very mod friendly with me, they wanted an extra £90 per year if I converted my single tailpipe to a twin.

They only invented the internet so people could vent their frustration.

Very few folk are going to join forums to tell people how great their insurance company.

As for Tripadvisor you have to laugh at many of the hotel reviews. People actually forget what they are reviewing.

The hotel was brilliant. Spotless clean, great food, brilliant staff blah blah blah but my husband got his wallet stolen at the beach and it ruined the holiday.

1 star in the hotel rating.

I used them for a couple of years and liked the service they gave. UK call centres are a big + for me. I never claimed and realise that's the test of any decent company.

Admiral sent me my renwel hadn't put my alloys on yet, £530 got a quote with LV £370 with mods declared, Admiral couldn't get close. One option i have noticed and not sure to go ahead with it is the option of £24.90 to get Legal assistance extra cover up to 100k if you have an acident there will help you if there is a dispute. Do i really need it
