OEM Black Kidney Grills?
Sorry, I realize this is a basic question, and search, well, I could not find what I was looking for.
I have a 2011 E92 LCI that is BSM with gunmetal VMR 710 rims. I'm looking to swap out the existing chromed kidney grills for full black ones. Are there variations in kidney grills? Where can I order OEM black kidney grills? Or is there a general consensus on a great supplier with the best quality? Thanks guys! |

there are many vendors here with quality grills. theres matte black, gloss black, performace grills, painted grills, CF grills, and more im sure. it would depend on what goes with your car. some plasti dip the chrome ones or paint them.

What you want are the OEM black grills. I got mine from Ticsher. You will find them in the "performance" section. Don't waste your money on cheap after-market parts for something as visible as your grill. They are even on sale right now for $50 each.

Hi OP,
IMO you definitely want to consider the OEM parts. To my eye, they just look to be better quality in person; others will obviously have different opinions, just my two cents. I personally went with the 335is stock grills, which have a gloss black surround ring with (what looks like to me) darker, gunmetal chrome vertical slats. It's definitely an improvement over the stock full chrome, and the grills don’t completely disappear because of the small amount of chrome/gunmetal. I have sapphire black metallic paint and didn't quite like the look of a full gloss black grill; I still wanted a small contrast present. 100% satisfied (for now ). I got them from Getbmwparts.com, I PM'd Evan@tischer and he was a big help and got me the part numbers I needed. |

Youngb4... Thanks so much, exactly what I needed. And sounds like a perfect combination for me given that my wheels are gunmetal too. PM has been sent! |
