When, oh when for the F80 M3?

I'm hoping that I can do ED next summer so my boys can go along. Am I dreaming?

SCOTTT, it was claimed recently by one publication, who also said the car will debut @ Frankfurt 2013 like you did above, that we will see a concept @ Geneva 2013. Any truth to it?

Hopefully I can see what the 2er and 4er look like by then. I hate waiting but I bet they are both going to be slick.

I believe the strategy is for the M3 Sedan to debut in concept form in Geneva 2013. But do not rule out a Chinese premiere in Shanghai like the M5, as every second M3 and M5 and every first XM are exported to China.

They plan to show the X4 as a Concept sometime in 2013. Which has now begun clinic testing in Europe after being sucessful in the US and China.

The big news for BMW @ Paris will be the worlds first FWD BMW , strategically important as the Mercedes-Benz B-Klasse is a runaway success in Europe , BMW's challenger aims to grab a significant proportion of this segments growth , by utilising sporting BMW pretentions with significant flexibility. With projections of this segment expected to increase to 45% by 2015. BMW would like the Compactive Sport Tourer to achieve around 20% of that new growth over the next two years.

Thanks for confirming that info SCOTT. I look forward to seeing the X4 and CST (Compactive Sport Tourer) as well. Interesting new segments for BMW.

So, for the E9x generation did M3 sedans make up a significant portion of Chinese M3 sales vs. the coupe and convertible? Reportedly, in the US, the sedan sold in even fewer numbers than the convertible. It will be interesting to see if this changes with the new F8x generation and the (still unconfirmed by BMW) switch to the M4 name for the couple/cab.

What about a LWB M3 and M5 for China? Not necessary?

The best selling M3 model was the Coupe hence why they had around three exclusive editions available to Chinese customers.
The interesting thing is that in China, M. is a complete youth bran.
Its clientle are made up of the young and successful. That does not really fit with the 3er and 5er Li that are aimed at more "experienced" business owners. So an M3 and M5 Li does not fit within M's approach to a youthful demographic.

There is an upcoming event in relation to the new M6 in China.
