dinan ecu flash...

ok, well i ran into a old freind who just got back san jose state and has a M3. he heard i got a 335i and blah blah blah. i tell him i turbo tuned my car, and was thinking about going procede in the near future. Then he tells me one of his friends is deep inside dinan, and they are getting close to finishing an ECU FLASH and NOT a piggyback. he sed he meet him in san jose and they are pretty good freinds... im going to be making a trip down to meet him within the next couple weeks. ill be sure to take my camera fone and see whats up

hopefully ill get more info.

other things he mentioned that are getting close for prime time from dinan:

suspension setup
intercooler
bigger oil cooler

i asked him about power gains from the ecu flash... he couldnt remember down to the tee. but (unofiicaly, and dont hold me to it) he said 400whp and 380wtrq

ill keep u guys updated once i figuire something out

No way that this is true with just ECU tuning. There is a slight chance if they increased the hell out of the boost level and run race gas on the dyno.

well.. remember my friend didn't really remember cause he has a M3 so didnt care... maybe he is wrong.. when i talk to the guy from dinan, and manipulate my way to getting info

i doubt the gains are going to be that hight with just the flash...
but sounds interesting.

Yeah I doubt that they will be that high as well....I guess the only reason people are interested in this is because of the possibility atleast of their warranty being "ok" with BMW if they use Dinan. I remember someone saying that isnt the case though a few months ago. Who knows anymore.

yeah. i heard that 2, that bmw is cutting ties with dinan...

It's not reflash only, intercooler helps if they boost it heavily and the heat increases, but the hp-figure is still too high.

He said 400HP. If at the crank, and Dinan has access to the ECU logic, then that would seem doable. Shiv has dyno's showing 370HP at the wheels (V.2), right?

He says its at the wheels for both HP and TQ. I'm done with speculation, I wanna see proof that Dinan can produce that.

maybe Dinan has some sort of modified exhaust to get the extra power over Procede?

To the guys discussing warantee... whether BMW accepts Dinan or not is irrelevant. Dinan will cover warantee stuff that BMW won't that is related to whatever Dinan products you installed.

Scan halfway down the post, you will see a 335i ripped apart...... The poster is honoring an agreement with Dinan but I believe we can expect to see some Dinan SW for the 335i at some point.....

As much as I respect Shiv and his ground breaking work, I can have my dealer support the Dinan software...... Remember Dinan started with forced induction and has excellent experience here....

Procede remap on a dinan ecu flash. woohoo.. are we risking the drivebility balance? i want to see someone do a dinan ecu flash. and have Shv fine tune again on a ecu reflash by dinan.

are you suggesting running a procede on top of an ECU flash? that sounds like a bad idea...

If the gains are that high (which I highly doubt) then it will cost $10K because Dinan doesn't sell anything that isn't grossly over-priced.
