Vishnu exhaust........2nd thoughts?
I ordered Vishnu stage 1 turbo tuning pkg with PROcede and catback exhaust. The exhaust is currently sitting packaged in my living room. PROcede is pending delivery. As I tend to be very impulsive with these type purchases, I am having "remorse." I assume that my warranty will be voided with this exhaust mod?? What are the chances of this exhaust causing mechanical problems?? Effect on emissions testing?? The exhaust is nice looking and sound clips are awesome however. I appreciate any thoughts.

Thome,
A catback exhaust wont do much to affect your warranty. Unforunately and forunately it does not raise power enough/change things enough to worry about. The exhaust wont cause any damage that I know of. In MOST performance cars sold today exhaust is one of the most common mods. Dont worry about it. Get that baby installed and enjoy it. |

Man, if someone knows the diff between a Vishnu exhaust and a Brand X exhaust, they will likely know how to look for a PROcede.
If you're that worried, don't get an exhaust at all. |

except for the part that anyone with half a brain would take the procede out first, not so easy with an exhaust

Don't sweat it, a catback won't void anything, doesn't effect emissions in the least bit, and won't hurt the car at all. The procede has a small chance of having warranty issues. Time will tell, and being careful with uninstalling it before major service might be good insurance.
If your dealer is that brilliant then they deserve to void any warranty they want. I'd wager that 90% of this board wouldn't identity a vishnu exhaust by sight. |

I agree... I strongly doubt most dealers (esp in my town) will be able to recognize a "Vishnu" exhaust in particular and link it to PROcede. Tips are 4 in wide though (stock is 3) so it is noticeable if one pays attention. |

+4. Get to know your service advisor. It is their job to be helpful not to be warranty police. If you have a problem with your engine or tranny take the procede out. Other problems like your power windows or comfort access leave the procede in. Your gonna trade in your car in a couple years anyway. Trust me your car can handle a little more boost. Stop being a girl.
As I have stated before if you believe they void warranties like some do NOBODY NOBODY NOBODY who drives an evo or an sti would still have a warranty. Seriously if you're worried about a warranty maybe you bought a car out of your price range. |

I got a new rear diff. under warr when my car went in a 15,000miles. I was complaining that I heard a clicking noise when I went into reverse. My car was dropped with H&R race springs and had 19" wheels on it. I was scared at first when they told me I needed a new diff, but when they said it was covered I was kinda surprised they didn't try to play the performance parts card on me.

once you install aftermarket stuff you will void the exhaust system.. However, you need to save all of the OEM Part just in case you want your warrent back.. is it bold on or weld it on? bold it on.. should not void any warranty at all when u turn in ur car if it is a lease .. if u weld it on, you can still do it. but it is very noticable.. Warranty will be void on the exhaust part. I have no issue having my aftermarket exhaust at the dealership. It is just a warranty void on it. other than exhaust system, Warranty is good!! |

Not yet. Local tuner says he wants my car for 2 days to install. So, I need time from work to arrange. Plus, PROcede to install (still deciding on self install or not- thoughts?). Full speed ahead.
