Why would you regret for not getting Technology Package (navigation)?

My car doesn't come with tech package and i miss the head up display on the dash. How many of you feel regret for not getting the tech package? My 2012 is going to be deliver tomorrow. If I am super regret, then i will have to wait for another 3 months for another custom order. Life is short... don't want to wait and just drive the car! How do you guys feel, man?

With the smaller screen, am i only missing navigation feature right? For those who do not have navigation, can you share some of your experiences please? Maybe after hear from you, I might feel better!

From what I understand without tech package you are also missing the extended cluster which is pretty useful. The navi isn't a big deal honestly since smartphones are getting better and better with google maps (excludes iPhones unless jailbroken). Another interesting thing that comes w/ the tech package is the information about hp, tq, boost levels, etc through the upgraded screen (tech package). Although, iono if this is confirmed. The heads up display is pretty neat no lie. It honestly should be a stand alone option haha.

HUD is brilliant, NAV built-in also. You are much more likely to use it than on your phone.

i almost didn't get it. now i don't think i could live without it. i know smartphones have it, but having an integrated GPS that shows directions on the windshield is so awesome. you can search for places with it too, and it shows traffic jams and alternate routes for eco mode, shortest path, fastest path. pretty neat. not to mention the larger screen looks so vivid.

Can you confirm if the tech. package has the information such as boost, hp, tq, etc on the screen?

I am not sure if i can wait for another 3 months since I don't have a car. Rental is too expensive and there is no public transportation of where i live. Bike is not even an option for a 2 hours commute. I wish i have a jet.

If you like electronic toys to play with Tech package is a must. If you are interested only in the driving experience then you won't miss it.

Ah, 2 hour commute? Do you drive to the south bay or something? I mean if you order a MY13, you'll get it by September 1st ish.

See, I was more about the driving experience from the beginning but with the ability to see power, torque and other cool information like that on the screen is def worth it. The HUD isn't bad either lol and honestly it enhances the driving experience. Like a fighter jet!

I will probably get it just to spend stupid money on toys, but if you're a car lover who simply likes BMWs for the cars they're known for there's no reason to. "Almost" everything above a base 335 sport line is nice-to-have at best without providing much real value to the driving experience. (Paddles, suspension and steering options may offer true value to the right driver.)

Why does anybody "need" the tech stuff below? Who knows?

Navigation system
Head-up Display
Online Information Services
Smartphone Integration
BMW Assist with enhanced Bluetooth and USB
BMW Apps
Real Time Traffic Information
Instrument cluster with extended contents

And what I personally have a hard time understanding is why anyone who really loves the BMW ride would load up a 328 with this kind of stuff instead of upgrading to a more austere 335. But I know people dance to different drummers so...

well my minimum was a 335i sport. Then I test drove the fully loaded one at the dealer and saw that HUD. Then friends told me about bmw apps and how amazing it is. So i figured I order the sporty stuff then add a bit of tech to keep me entertained on the way to work so I dont get tickets.

Here are some tech related pics

I need all of it!

But then again, I am getting a 328 with almost every option. I seriously debated the 328 vs 335 but determined that I like the handling and fuel efficiency of the 328 over the 335. Even though I prefer the sound of the 335 over the 328. Since I'm not looking for max performance (sport line vs m-sport), the 328 will be fine for me and will save a nice chunk of change too.

I went best of both worlds, loaded 335i (well except the parking assist/driving assist....I can park and drive rather well). all the sporty crap, all the luxury crap, none of the nannies. Oh and all the POWWWAAAA

Everyone should know/accept. options have little to do with "needs"....it's all about "wants".

Is there a way to get the control of ventilation from the App as shown in your pics?

My app only shows 'Google Local Search' there, I thought it wasn't available in US yet?

I dont think so. I took those screenshot b4 I got my car. So it was in demo mode and once I register my car on there the precondition option went away. I would love that feature especially now with these 90 degree days
