Aftermarket 6 spd MT Trans and Driveline

I dont know if this is a repost or not. Since we have alot of Aftermarket Company making parts for the 335i. If we Tunning this car passing it capacity of the transmission. I do know BMW is using ZF Trans for the Trans. I was just wondering Any AfterMaket conpany offer High Preformancing 6 spd Trans? I need to see Spec on the new trans. What much MAX HP and LB /Torque? I want to see Tunning Company would like to take that?? I want to see a Aftermarket Trans pushing around 500-700 hp? 600 lb torque. I also want to see Tunning Company making 335i Driveline to handle that spec. How would much cost ?

Do you think that we are really at that point yet where we need a beefier transmission? I would first look for an upgraded clutch then see if the diff and axles are up to the task before I would worry about the transmission. Just my opinion though. Based on older BMWs I really don't see this being a problem.

Is the MT made by Getrag? Only reason I ask is because with the 6MT Getrag on the Supra, it could handle 700hp with no problems.

This isn't exactly a Nissan front drive gearbox we are talking about here, I am with boosted on this the clutch and rear end are gonna give out WAY before the trans.

When i said stressing out the trans meaning after you did alot of modication. like add lsd, DP, Exhaust, Cold Intake, PRocede, level 2 clutch. intercooler, 104 octane mixture with 91 octane, bor out the turbo from the inside out, Changing spark plug to cold spark. bore out the piston and cylinder, and etc. i m pretty sure you need a stronger trans and driveline. When you have that much of Modification. Drivebility is not good. so you need a stronger Driveline and axle that made for high preformance... By the way, i think the ZF trans can handle 600 hp and 500-600 lb torque.

No way those numbers are possible on stock turbos.

Like mentioned...first priority would be a clutch that can grab at higher power range.

We don't even know if the engine can safely handle the power range you mention.

I believe that those of us with manual trannies will be finding the limits of our trannys before the slushbox guys. I'm interested in finding out more about the tranny myself...preferrably before it explodes.

LACA, lot of nice mods in plan, , but I miss one thing in your considerations (well, not only in your) - do U think the injectors will be able to give U enuff power to blow your tranny? Cuz I think they won't. Now I can be mistaken, but if I'm not, until someone finds some higher performance replacement for the recent fuel system (the whole - fule pump + injectors), all your issues are worthless...

I hope this info will save U a lot of $$s and time

EDIT: Clicking on this nice pix (from siemens vdo) U get a nice lil archive containing a hires version of this pic (also from siemens vdo) to check the system out in better detail. CHEERS
