Reconsidered the tuning aspect..gonna stay stock for now...
I considered doing procede..and Turbo Tuner...and even considered waiting for Dinan and GIAC...or even Jim Conforti. But after hearing that only Hartge and Alpina have a legitimate offering (IMHO) with help from BMW, I am gonna hold off until the dust settles. I dont want to blow an engine due to running too lean...my car is leased..and I cannot afford some $12K for a new engine if it goes. My aftermarket exhaust, suspension, wheels/tires, and LSD will have to suffice for now. That is all...Steve ..out.

If I recall, Shiv said about 2 months ago that he had 18k+ mi. on his very hard-driven PROcede+exhaust 335i (he must have > 20k. mi. on it by now)...and his engine hasn't blown up yet. I'm sure you didn't lease your car for 4+ years...did you?

While I am more comfortable with the air/fuel mix on the tuner packages, I also value S4's opinion because he's a bigtime track guy.
He has spent a lot of time on the track and has probably seen his share of grenaded engines. Even with my limited experience on a track, I have seen how it is 1000x more stressful to a vehicle than anything you will ever see on a public road. I have never seen over 260'ish or so on any of my hard canyon runs yet I step foot on a track and I'm seeing 20-30 degrees higher than that. A dragstrip might be more stressful on drivetrain (ever see a racecar driver shift? It's smooooth), but track use definitely generates more heat. That said, a Shiv-tuned car ran the 12 hour Bathurst race.....albeit with less boost than what the latest PROcede is dialing out. |

Add-on plug and play solutions are available and work well. Keep in mind that the factory 335i engine is detuned. Respecting this and looking back to several months of experience with those solutions there are no indications that we will have reliability issues at the current performance gain levels. Last but not least your driving style will have the most reliability impacts. For track use the M3 will be the better car. Cheers Eugen |

Anyway, not trying to start a ruckus here..just saying to those on the fence that it is ok to wait a bit on this. Happy driving.

^Maybe the fuel pump issue has gotten to him.
I know it has gotten to be to some effect. I was going to buy a catback and downpipes for the car, but now I'm just keeping it stock for the mean time. |

So far I've yet to hear of a single engine failure, including people who are running 100 shots, so I don't know what the worry is. |

To the OP... Did you see Vishnu's video? Good reason to get a Procede.
