Need help regarding fitment F30 19s

Hi guys,

I dont know much about rims and fitments. I really want these rims:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Brand-New-201...#ht_6692wt_881

I asked the seller (UAP) and the said yes it fits in t.he F30 although in the description there is no mention of the F30. Can someone confirm this? Id really appreciate it.

Thanks!

if its a 5X112 than it should have no problem fitting, I am not positive of the maximum offset you could run but I would just measure from the hub to the inner well and do the math. May also want to check the gap between your wheel and the inner well when fully turned, you probably don't want to only go straight down the road all the time haha

19x8.5 ET35 will be a good fit up front.

19x9.5 ET38 will be pushed out a bit in the rear and may require a bit of fender work.

I would say that it *can* work, but a bit higher rear offset would be ideal. I would personally shoot for 19x8.5 ET35 & 19x9.5 ET45 - The fitment with these widths & offsets looks spot on in this thread.

Remember, the lower the offset number, the further pushed out the wheels are; the higher the offset number, the further tucked in the wheels will be.
Good luck on your search!

Wow thanks for your reply. Very informative.

So the main issue is the rear with 38 offset, should be 45. Is there any simple solution to make this work? I really want those rims!

Unfortunately, not exactly. It is easy to lower effective offset by using spacers. However, raising offset, not so easy.

A machine shop may be able to machine down the back hub area on the wheel but this would be a maximum of 3mm, bringing you to 9.5 ET41 rear. This may just be enough to work but you'll need to find a local shop that can do the machining for you.

It's still difficult finding too many details regarding exact fitments for the F30. Once my car gets here, I plan to figure out what the boundaries are of wheel fitment but until then, knowing *exactly* what works/doesn't is a tad out of my reach.

Good luck! Maybe try finding a similar wheel but with a higher offset to make life easier?

So the bolt pattern for the F30 is 5x120, not 5x112 as posted earlier in the thread?

Also very interested in a set of these, but no Mfr. makes them in 19x9.5 ET45 yet for the rear.

P.s., here's the optimal wide-tire sizing for 19s:

front: 19x8.5 (5x120mm) ET35 with 245/40/19
rear: 19x9.5 (5x120mm) ET45 with 275/35/19

^Has been verified by the guys @ **********s.

No.. I'd really like to but the rear offsets are 38 which ppl have been saying is too aggressive. And i have never purchased rims etc so I have no clue if these would even remotely fit a car thats recommended rear offset of 45.

Tho on **********s website, these rims seem to be on an e90 so maybe there is hope?

I really want them lol

Yeah I really hate that we have to get such a conservative offset for the f30. Looking at the tons of nice used rims for sale on M3 forums and e90post forums.. damn shame really. Would like a set of used HRE's that would fit but it is what it is.

Is that the fitment they have on their F30? Im wondering if I should give this a try. Do you know what could be the disadvantages of going this wide?

Tirerack.com seems to recommend rims with 38mm offset in the rear. Are you guys certain 38 mm offset in the rear wont work? Whats the worst that could happen with these offsets?

It also depends on the wheel widths. 19x9 +38 offsets may fit, 19x10 +38 may not.

I'm looking for a set up of 19" wheels, 19X10.5 in the rear, and 19X9.5 in the front. Would anyone know the recommended offsets for this fitment cause bbs to think 35 offsets would work in the rear?

ET42-43 rear, ET32-33 front.

any reason you need the wheels so wide? what size of tires are you planning to use?
