Ordered my F31 msport 320d yesterday

Ordered my F31 msport 320d yesterday. Delivery at beginning of October. With a lot of luck there might be a production slot earlier.

Weird that a lot of people, even Americans doing European delivery (?), is getting much earlier build dates even though they ordered after I did. What's up with this?

Nice car!
I am from Norway and have just ordered a (F31) 320dA Touring Sport line. It is my 2nd BMW (its the first time I've had 2 cars from the same brand). I had a 318d Touring from 2008 to 2009.

Highlights from my cars equipment:

- Adaptive M Sport suspension
- Active sports steering
- Xenon
- Lumbar support (can't beleive it's not standard!)
- Visibility package (auto dimming mirror, rainsensor, foldable rear headrests, foglights etc.)
- Driver comfort package (cruisecontrol, PDC, Bluetooth/USB)
- Sun protection glass
- Sunblinds - rear side windows (for my dear little son )
- Aluminium interior with black accent
- Comfort access (probably going to add this...)

I went for the exterior colour Alpine White as I like the car in that color, plus I can spend more on other options

I will get the car in the end of november (week 47). I could get it sooner, but I will be abroad for 2 months, so no point in paying for a car before then.

Did you drive the F30 yet?

Hello Norway

Are you sure you need the lumbar support? The sport seats are very tight and stable even without it, not like the five series.

I tried the F30 328i and F30 320d without sport suspension. I have a 320d EDE E90 today and it has the sport suspension. I have upgraded my F31 msport order to adaptive M suspension since I wrote my first post here.

I have tried the F30 with and without the Adaptive suspension, and I find the car much better with it.
About the lumbar support; I guess a combination of wanting to avoid a bad back at 44 and being spoiled from my current cars (MB E200 CDI) multi contour seats makes it a priority for me. Anyway its a cheap way of increasing seat comfort and adjustability.
How come you didn´t order the excellent automatic?

I did order the sport automatic. Now I am considering nav prof and HUD together with BMW live and apps.

By the way, I am 44. But you have tried with and without lumbar support? I might like it too, I just haven't tried or missed it.

I use the navigation maybe once or twice per year. But I added the navigation just to get the bigger screen. I think the smaller screen looks quite bad and it doesn't fit a nice car as the F30. I've had HUD in other cars and it is a nice feature, but I'm not sure it is worth 10 000kr. But I added it.

10.000 SEK? More like 23.000 I think. Or am I missing something? I would not consider the business version. I use gps nav a lot, if not for other reasons then just for knowing when I get there or home.

Does the RTTI (traffic info) work in Scandinavia/Sweden?

I was just talking about the HUD when I mentioned 10k.

Regarding the RTTI - Last info I got was that it works in the larger part of Europe, but not in Sweden. Might have changed though.

Ahhh, okay. Yes HUD is expensive but I find it very useful for all the info including the active cruise control. It is also the coolest option

So there is no traffic info at all for Sweden or is just the real time traffic congestion part missing?

TMC should work as always. But it is not as up to date as the system BMW uses on RTTI.
But I only read some about it when it was released, so I might have been wrong or things might have changed.

I'll know in 5 weeks!

Sigh. The RTTI system only works in Germany, UK, Italy and France.

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...affic.html#t=l

I also found references to another system, ARTTI. In the future they will use data from the CAN bus to detect icy roads etc.

Ok, your car will be loaded then :-)

I haven't tried the lumbar support in the BMW, I just know I appreciate it in my current car. I like the possibility of changing the support a little on long trips f. ex.

Sadly, the support for the extended functionality of nav prof seems non existing in Sweden. No RTTI, no BMW Online, no My Remote app etc etc. Mostly because we don't have BMW Assist.

Haven't managed to find out if all the hardware is there and whether it would work on a trip to Germany or not. I guess it won't since I don't have the assist.

F31? Seems very early then. When did you order and what week was it supposed to be delivered? In Sweden no one seems to have gotten any earlier dates that beginning of October.

I just got the information that my F31 has been pushed forward a week to week 41.

My BMW shop gets its demo cars around that time, September 10. Is it a demo car you have been able to snatch from your shop? Otherwise it sounds very early.

I have added professional navigation, all the extras like live and apps etc plus HUD now. Still week 41 (it was changed to 41 last week) for delivery. Planned production week 37.

Do you get a better price for the adaptive package together with msport in the UK? In Sweden the suspension is cheaper for msport but the package remains at the same price making the sport steering very expensive to add (if forced to buy the package).

I just ordered as seperate options.
I was going to just order the suspension £515 but realised yesterday that the servo steering comes as standard on the 330d so thought it was worth adding sport steering for £250.

I had almost ordered a 320d with pro-media but then went for the 330d without pro-media and saved money.
