E85 fuel is great

With all the talk of E85 going around, I figure I jump the gun and join the bandwagon. I just updated the JB4 to the new 5/23 maps. I just found out that a shell gas station about 15-20 min from my home carry's E85, so is perfect for when I need to fill-up. Not only is E95 $.75/gal cheaper than 93, but you really notice the difference in torque in this car. After putting in 34% mix of E85 (66% 93 oct/34% E85), the car really pulls after hitting the throttle.
I'm going to use 50/50 mix when I run empty and do more test, but for now the power and low cost of E85 is amazing. Here's a quick log I took when I got on the freeway.

Very nice! I may be next to try this stuff... however I'm still concerned about the fuel pumps and injectors in the long run..

well i have been running, I would say a 25% mixture for a pretty good amount to time. Its been atleast over 14 or 15 months now and the car LOVED it before and loves it now but with this new firmware (5/24) its amazingly kicking ass!! Once you try it, your hooked! And by the way I have done PLENTY of research on the effects of E85 and if it harms anything down the road which it doesnt. Maybe if you let the car sit for a month or two without starting it lol which I have no idea why you would do that. But your not going to have issues and if you really do your research you will find that E85 isnt as harmful to our N54 motors as you think

Terry pumps out new maps faster than I can keep up. I only have the 5/19 firmware, I need to try the new one now

Altec, where did you get your E85?

I just filled up on E85 on my FBO 335i and its BEAST!

I went to Long island on sunrise highway.

Got E85 for $3.30 a gallon at Getty.

Use Flex Finder app on the iPhone. Also, every line on the needle is about 0.8 gallons for those calculations.

I will try E85 this weekend, found 1 gas station about 15-20min away called 'em up & they sell; E85 at $3.13 per gal. @ Norman's Quality Gasolines in New Hyde Park, NY

For anyone thats interested i found this website helpful the most out of all that i've checked so far http://www.afdc.energy.gov/afdc/locator/stations/
All other websites i've checked either the gas station is planned or closed that were near me.

I have a link to the gas station in my first post. I'm in Westchester so LI is a bit of a commute for me.
I don't like Getty stations as my friend found water in both his cars tanks after filling his cars with gas. I only use Shell/Mobil/Exxon/Sunoco in that order. By having E85 at a Shell gas station is a win/win, as I don't have to drive to another location to get 93 when filling up with E85.

Yea my cell wont let me open up the link.. Ill check it when i get home..

Yea i filled up with shell 93 and then a quarter of e85 from them..

Interestingly enough, the pump said e85 is not a Getty branded gasoline..

Being as e85 has all the same logo maybe its a single company that delivers the e85?

My logs looked amazing so the e85 was def good quality..

Doesn't matter where you get E85 as I believe it's probably the same refinery in the area and most probably use new tanks in the ground. What I'll be careful is filling up regular pump gas from a reputable gas station.

E85 is getting harder and harder to find by me. Few stations have it anymore since the subsidy stopped.

I uploaded the new hex yesterday and ran 50% E85. HAULS HINEY! This is good stuff, you get more HP's for less $'s. Fortunately, there is a E85 station right down the street from me.

2:1 blend seems to be the industry standard, anyone running a 50:50 mix yet?
