3ers vs 1ers - five minutes of your lunch hour :-)
So, long story short... although I've been into photography for a couple years this is my first "official" shoot! These were taken on Memorial Day.
I invited one buddy to take some pics of his car (to test out a hot shoe flash that I borrowed from a friend) and somewhere along the line the rest of the bunch decided to come along. The lineup included: My 335i Two M3's One 1M One 135i The day before Memorial Day we scouted an empty parking lot to do the shoot. After the scout, I formulated a series of shots that I wanted to take advantage of given its "ideal" location away from distractions. Here is where it starts: I've always wanted to test out the "sleeping beast" (transparent hood) shot, but was too lazy to experiment before. This was the first opportunity to try it out and I was super stoked!! One friend (Melbourne Red M3) showed up 45 minutes late with his friend and his VW bus. They wanted to get a couple shots of it, and here is one. His M3 never made it in this part of the shoot due to subsequent events While shooting the bus, along comes mister security guard in his golf cart and tells us to vacate the lot. Mind you, there isn't a single car in the lot, we weren't there to rev our engines or leave tire marks. When telling him that we're just enthusiasts doing enthusiast stuff, his face swells up like a balloon. Things get nasty from here on, and I'll spare you the details. The end result was my buddy with his AW M3 got arrested (j/k) and his mugshots were released. After the fiasco, we move along to another parking lot, only to find a very small portion that was unoccupied - and the lighting conditions were horrible by comparison. Some where along the shoot, the two M3's decided to heckle the 1M... what a couple of good-for-nothing bullies! Even though night was upon us by this time, the parking lot retained all of the day's heat and we were sweating buckets. At this point we retired for food and drink. Until the next time... when I can play around some more with the camera (without a damn security guard bothering us)!!!

some pics edited better than others, the over editing caused them to be very grainy. first few are the best, photo-wise.

Thanks!
Quite a difficult pic to get actually, glad you like! Quote:

Thanks and I agree - the last few were taken in less than ideal lighting conditions at the second location. Had to bump up the ISO a bit since the ceiling beams blocked the flash from doing what it was supposed to do.

The first lot was off 183N. Is that Mopac lot open for public use?

I worked in that building for years. Yes, it's open for public use although it's patrolled on one side. People that eat at Baby As park there. The top floor is used by an online used car dealership so I don't see it being an issue.
