Quaife lsd oil?

Looking for some straight scoop: When I had my Quaife lsd installed 4 years ago, the installer used Redline 75/90 oil. During recent service, a different shop used Redline 75/90NS oil. That shop confirmed with Harold at HPA (who I bought the Quaife from) that the 75/90NS was the proper oil to use as I was concerned about the lack of friction modifiers. I just read a Roundel tech talk article in which Mike Miller says Redline 75/90NS is for open differentials only. Redline says to use 75/90; Quaife says it doesn't matter...Can anyone tell me which is the correct fluid for our cars w/a Quaife lsd?

I used 75/90NS......changed it after the 1,000 mile "break-in" with more 75/90NS.

Only put 5,000 miles on it before I sold the car. No noise or issues, probably my top 3 favorite mod too.

BMW uses a clutch type differential and using open differential oil can contaminate the clutches and make them slip too easily. On geared differentials there are no clutches to damage.

^The M3 diff is a clutch type LSD; friction modifiers required. The 335i just has an open diff; no friction modifiers required. The Quaife lsd is a gear type; VAC and HPA say to use the 75/90NS, so I guess there's my answer; no friction modifiers required for gear type lsd.

Quaife is torsen LSD, not clutch-based. It doesn't have have any clutches so it doesn't need "LSD" oil.
I have 75-90NS in mine as well.

Mobil One here and no issues at all. I had it checked about 4 months ago, and all is well. I wouldn't worry at all.
