Charge Pipe.. Yay Or Nay?
So Is it worth getting a charge pipe w some sort of aftermarket bov / dv combo?
Here are some notes to keep in mind.. I am running the stock charge pipe right now and its holding fine with the most boost I will be running on the stock turbos.. 17-18 psi.. I will not be running meth any time soon if at all.

Unless you're getting offered a great deal on a meth setup now, then there's no reason to replace the OEM CP + DVs until they break.

Get the DPs -- You'll be able to run Stage 2 (Stage 2+ if you have an FMIC upgrade). Since you'll be running the Sport setting (Aggressive requires 93 octane), you shouldn't be over-stressing the stock CP + DVs

Im running aggressive stage 1 on 93octane now but i dont feel the surge of power like i used to when i 1st install it. I'd thought it was bc i have boost leaks but ima go with the DPs anyways and try out stage 2 like u suggested. How much gain can i get from stage 1 to2?

DPs are AWESOME! It completely changes the sound of the car, I'm not a fan of the ricey/drone sound & spending $1k on an exhaust for 10-15 HP + noise is not worth it IMO. From Stage 1 Aggressive to Stage 2 Sport it won't be a "night and day" difference in performance, (Stg 1 Aggressive boost is about the same), but w/ the DPs the throttle response will increase since the turbos will be able to spool up more quickly. My ER CP + Forge DVs are going in tomorrow since boost related problems (leaks, CP/DVs cracking, etc) were a concern of mine, the car is my DD. From what I've been told, the throttle response will def get a little more sharper w/ the upgraded CP (less restrictive then OEM) and the DVs will help hold the higher boost a lot better. IMO, if you love your car and are running 14 psi or higher, upgrading your CP + DV/BOV is very important to prevent something breaking. |

An aftermarket charge pipe is the last thing I would ever put in my car. Such a useless piece of pipe for like $250+, you can get lots of other useful things for the money.
However if you ever get one, get one with machined stock C-coupler, not one with clamps and silicone hoses.

Agreed, but how the fuck are you injecting meth?? AFAIK, meth has to be injected through the charge pipe (since there are no aftermarket intake manifolds that have meth injection)??

For meth there are meth elbows that can be used instead of the factory elbow, before the charge pipe. I made my own elbow. It is possible that some cars do not have an elbow (it is integrated into the charge pipe). In this case, a charge pipe is the only solution for methanol injection.

I have stock charge pipe/dv's no cracks holds boost up 18.5 psi
You don't need a new charge pipe for meth, I have a meth elbow. And I believe any charge pipe can be tapped for meth Anyway get the dp's now and waste your money on charge pipe later if u feel u need one R

Don't get a charge pipe unless you get a P30FF code and can't find a boost leak anywhere else. My plastic DV's with 115,000 miles weren't up to the task of holding the extra boost from my tune

my ER charge pipe was affordable, allows me to use stock or after market diverter valves and holds about 1.5 psi more than my stocker ever did when tuned. It is available with bungs for meth, and they can be placed anywhere on the pipe. I'll never look back.
