Code 2a98,2a99 Vanos issues, half engine light
Hi guys I recently went WOT and threw a few codes on my car.
So far the codes I have are 30- 3100 2A98 2A99 Today I replaced both vanos solenoids and the codes are still present. Just wondering if you guys have any ideas on what else I could do. The car has a jb4 installed. I have erased the codes and they continue to come back. Any help with be greatly appreciated. I have read practically ever thread regarding vanos issues. Car has 61k miles 10/07 build Recently had to replace both turbos and all rod bearings. The car has been a nightmare from day one. Thanks! |

Replacing solenoids worked for me. I seem to remember other members saying codes could be thrown by worn camshaft ledge, but that'll be a big job to replace.

I'm taking the car in on Tuesday. I'm also getting a code for the intake cam timing. I'm thinking the car may have gone out of timing somehow. Hopefully it will not be too much money. Thanks!
