Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS 255 35 R18

Any chance of getting these? Tire rack says they're on back order as does my local tire guy.

Gary, I want to get these tires for my 2009 328 xi with 17" rims. Presently the car has 225 45 17 tires on stock rims.
I want to be able to get the widest tire (I like this look) on the stock 8" rims all around. Not looking for a staggard setup rather a square setup.

What do you suggest in tire size. I was thinking 245 45 17. Any suggestions.
Thanks

We've used up to 235/45R17 with no problems. There have been a few reports or rubbing with 245/45R17.

Tires http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AH8&...ires/index.jsp
Gary,
Im still looking for a tire that has a wider stance for my 2009 328xi with 8inch rims.
Im looking at you site at the Continental EXTREME CONTACT DWS TIRE 245/45ZR17 as opposed to the same tire in 225/45ZR17
Im picking up about .8 inches in width along with about .7 inches in height which would get my speedometer closer to an accurate reading.Your site comments that it was tested on 8" rims which I have all around. Im thinking the back should not be an issue at all. What about the fronts
Anyone running this?
Thanks

Fronts is going to be close since your steering is up there. When you full-lock or run over larger bumps while turning, the tire may pop up with the suspension and run into your inner fender liner or fender. I recommend the 235's if you wanted to go for a larger size.

I guess it would depend on a few things like your current alignment specs, etc. as every car is different, but as a reference I have 245/40-18's all the way around on my non-sport package '07 E90 and have no issues whatsoever. Thats slighly taller than the setup youre considering and a bit more aggressive on the wheel side given my 18x8.5 et35 front/et25 rear. I say give it a go and see what happens. As anything else though, theres no guarantee that you wont rub, but since it's not a super crazy fitment, I say give it a shot and see what happens

I actually went with the Continental EXTREME CONTACT DWS TIRE 235/45ZR17 and what a difference from the RFT.
As soon as I drove the car 500 feet from my mechanic you can tell the difference. The RFT amplified every crack in the pavement, never mind actual pot holes. Im sure that the actual car frame felt the same.

The new DWS's run like butter. I have them inflated to 40PSI all around cause I want a more tighter feel on the turns. Even at this PSI the car doesnt give you those teeth chattering chills up your spine everytime you ran something over (I live in the city).

I had the car way above the speed limit (will not self incriminate) on the NY Long Island Expressway and they hugged the pavement very impressivly. The car held tight to the ground on the expressway exits which are normally 180 degree turns. I also had the fortune of rain and if you folks know about the Long Island Expressway during a storm, driving the left most lane will put you through upwards of 3-5 inches of water. The car hugged the pavement will very little hydro-planing.

I'm sold. This is a great all season tire.
