N63 tuning
So let me get this straight
the only available tunes in the USA is dinan? Im sorry to rant i just dont justify paying almost 4k for a lousy tune that stays within bmw `` safe parameters´´. Im looking to the same thing i did with my 335i , meth with full bolt on and a agressive tune. i understand that it takes time to develop a tune , but how come the f10 m5 has at least 3-4 tuners and even one claiming upgraded turbos

I think the main problem is the demographic of people buying these respective cars. Most people who buy 550s are not looking to increase their performance much, despite the potential. To the majority of 550 owners, there is more than adequate power. People purchase M5s because they want MORE power, and will always want more. As for the 535, there are plenty of tuning options for the N55 available, since the engine has been around for a number of years.

Don't get me wrong.. I am saying there are plenty of tunes out there for both the n63 & n55. But to be fully compatible with the F10 5series (without issues) is a different story & configuration. The new 5 series have the flexray electronics that lots of tuners have been trying to get around it, like Active Autowerke. They have been working on the N63 tune for the F10 since last summer and still nowhere near completion. Since Dinan is working closely with BMW, perhaps, that's how Dinan is able to get their foot inside the BMW engineering code faster.
For N55, there are the piggyback, like Juice box (Burger tuning) which has for the 3series and people have been buying them to put onto the new 5series, 535, without much issue (at least I have not seen them on various forums) As for the F10 M5 S63, most of the tunes now available are European tune, I have not seen/heard of any North American tune available yet. |

actually, I have a 550 and also looking for more Power but not crazy & willing to pay $4000+ on the Dinan S2.
I just need another 50 hp and 75lb ft tq would be sufficient. That's why I am still waiting for Active Autowerke since last summer. I think their tune will go for $1500. |
