Chemical injection cleaner
Anyone ever had this done. Dealer is saying my hesitation in 6th gear is probably from intakes. I've heard of the walnut blasting on here, but not the chemical one. Dealer is doing it for free due to my prior fuel system problems.
On another note: I just had an N55 loaner while getting tires and alignment, and it felt much quicker at lower speeds. Maybe my intakes need cleaned that bad. I have 69k miles on my car.

My SA also just said they do not offer the Walnut blasting (and said he called around and no other local bay area dealers do either).
He was surprised because he agreed that with DI the chemical process is pretty much BS and the walnut shell is the way to go. |

Hmm. I'm getting it for free, so might as well try.

If you are referring to a chemical treatment to clean your injectors, then perhaps it might be worth it. Don't expect your intake valves to magically get cleaned though. (Direct Injection)

The popular of the "chemical" intake cleaning system is offered by BG Products. Around the country, there are BG service stations who offer this service. It's inexpensive than stealership prices, but quality of cleaning is not as thorough as chemical hand cleaning or walnut shell cleaning.
http://www.bgfindashop.com/bgservices/fuelair.htm FYI, for mitigation and reduction maintenance of valve deposits, I do alternate between, Chevron's Techron cleaner, BG's 44k and MOA products Grant- You may want check with ABS - Alternative BMW Service in San Mateo and ask for John. they have a strong reputation. From my understanding, they clean the valves by hand.
