Well title couldn't be clearer so...
Mine ran like crap...maybe cause the old fuel that was sitting inside the tank for a month or something....after i drained it down i refilled it with Chevron and the car was still running slow it lags more than before...i'm gonna go through a couple more tanks and if it's still this slow...then we'll go from there

mine ran like it had bad gas in it... after a few tanks, it was back to normal. I think it actually did have bad gas in it... they filled up the tank for me with some mystery gas from their reserves.... never again.

I noticed more lag on my car too but its not very bad, my car still pulls like crazy! And I noticed that my car ran a little rough on idle. I've asked around and apparently some people have been experiencing this since day 1 but I only noticed it after I got the new fuel pump.

Odd that you bring this thread up..got my car back on Saturday morning and have been thinking something is wrong as 1) it doesnt shift down to the appropriate gear as before [ie should drop to 3rd, but goes to 5th], 2) the car feels slow/sluggish around town. Once the rpms are up it's ok, but the instant throttle response is very much gone. I will be calling my dealer today.
I put a fresh tank of 91oct in too. |

im thinking the car has been sitting for so long that the gas might be going bad...give it a couple more tanks...im thinking i might bring it back to the dealership after a couple more gas tanks...cause this car is driving like ass...nothing like it was before the pump died..

Oh, this is not good to hear, I wonder if they made some sort of change to how the pump works to minimize the stresses on the pump.
Or it could be that it is a side affect of going into limp mode, it could be that the computer averages information that it obtains over time and adjusts the performance accordingly. So it might take pushing on the car real hard to blow out all the old data and create a new average. |

Mine did that too. I used one of these after all the old gas was gone & before the next fill-up & then it was fine:

my fuel pump went bad the day i got it back, it was ok for the first 100 miles of driving but then it began going into limp mode with the reduced engine light flashing. i turned the car on and off and it did it again... the car was not doing well at all

Considering that by BMW advertising lower HP numbers than actually produced in a new car, they can effectively do any type repair work that would lower horsepower down to that advertised level, and not have to address any subsequent low-HP complaints. They're basically giving themselves about a 20-30HP leeway.

UPDATE: READ ON!
Today im on my 3rd tank of gas since getting my car back last week...i didn't fill up all the way..just half way...it's 20 cents cheaper where i work...anyways.. The car seems to be back to normal now, each gear doesn't lag as much, flooring it in first gear i shred the rear tires all the way to 6000K RPM... car is running normal for now, i'm just thinking since they replaced the pump, they had to reprogammed the car, and cleared everything...so a couple days of hard driving, and some new gas in the car...it's back to it's normal self.. will update again tomorrow when i get to work...
