Remapping with 175k
Hi All,
Just got a nice 330d got everything on it. I thought there would be a bit more power so was thinking about a remap. The car has 175k miles on the clock. Been very well looked after with full history. Would you remap at 175k? |

You're from London. When you said 175k miles did you convert it to miles or did you mean kilometers. Regardless I wouldn't fuck that motor. It's been running strong so far because it wasn't fucked with. I wouldn't start now unless you have money set aside for a new motor.

Leave it how it is... I wouldn't touch anything on it.

Totally agree with everyone on this... Although to be honest; I don't think a remap would cause any sort of issue. If anything, I'd say you got yourself a nicely broken in motor there... Perfect platform for some boost!
Gotta say though- I'm certainly interested to hear the backstory on this one. How you ended up with it, how it ended up with that many miles, and of course how much you picked it up for. Fill us in!

It is in miles.
2006. One owner. Was owned by a FA football ref. So just up and down the motorway. Comes with everything, comfort access, advanced headlight the lot. There is not even a mark on the leather. My 2007 showed much more mileage on the interior and external body when I gave it back with 75k on the clock. Needless to say, I will be getting the oil changed every 8k miles. What do you guys think I need to do to restore any lost power? |

Don't try to clean the engine with anything, as the gunk might be hold everything together. Honestly I wouldn't try to restore any lost power because you shouldn't have bought a car with 175,000 miles to make it faster. That's problems waiting to happen. If I were you I would just drive it as a DD and make use out of it instead of trying to get more out of it.
