Please Help me...

Hi guys... ok heres my problem, I'm thinking of doing Euro Del. but for some reason when the dealer i bought my current 2001 325 from runs the numbers, its not really saving me that much. So I thought I'd come here and make sure im doing everything right.
I found the pricing list on bimmerfest.com where it lists the MSRP and the Wholesale prices, an my order is as follows:
2006 325i - $26,150.00
Prem. pkg. - $2,640.00
Sport pkg. - $1,455.00
Cold pkg.- $910.00
Navi. - $1,820.00
Comfort. - $455.00
Xenon - $730.00
Dest. - $695.00

Total - $34,855.00
PA sales tax 6%
Total with Tax : $36,946.30

So add in a dealer profit of lets say about $1,000.00 (high hopes)
and the total would then be:
$37,946.30
This car made the same way w/o ED is: $40,395.00 saving me $2,448.70.
But for some reason my dealer is giving me a price of $38,999.00 saving me only $1,396.00. So when you figure in my airfare and hotel, I'm only saving $300.00.
NOW here is the really weird part... on my dealers deal for an ordered non-ED car with the same stuff as above... he was at $40,177.00, thus only $1,178.00 more than the ED car.... really making the trip not worth it, financially, as much as I would love the experience.
SO.... am I really getting a good deal on the ED car, or the other? OR am I even doing this ED pricing thing right?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
S

First, the dealer profit should already be in the price of the car. I think you're being ripped off.

That said, it's still an almost free trip to Europe... might be worth it.

Wow, that reminds me why I live in Delaware - those taxes suck!

I'd try another dealer.

It appears that she maybe using the ED MSRP on the options or adding some additional fees which she should not be doing on an ED?

However, you also need to add the $1K dealer profit into the cost before doing the Sales Tax.

I think you gotta add in the $1k profit before you apply taxes. And maybe he's throwing in a doc fee and that ridiculous maco and training fee.

Ok, your right, my bad, have to add the profit b4 the tax, but even doing so is marginal. I still think I should be saving more money.
So these doc fee, maco and training fee arent necessary, IF he is throwing them in? I'll have to ask him, how it all breaks down.
Today I'm going to try a dealer that came recommended from bimmerfest.com. Hope that goes better.

I'm not sure if those fees are necessary, but from what I've read every dealer seems to have a doc fee. I believe the maco and training fees are BS. I may have read somewhere that if you're doing ED you don't have to pay maco. But I could be wrong.

Correct no MACO, training or any other BS Fees. Only thing is CA we pay the tax, lic, electronic filing for plates and doc fees.

Well, talked to the dealer that someone on Bimmerfest recommended, and he said right off the bat, they get $2,000.00 profit on ED cars. So guess I'll have to keep looking. Gonna try just calling dealers, give them what i wanna pay and see if they can beat it, match it, or come close.
Otherwise me thinking this ED is not going to be saving me enough to make the trip worth it.
