Music, and Seattle invite.
Heya folks. This is way off topic, but a couple of people have asked about my music, so I thought I'd extend an invitation to anyone in the Seattle area.
My band is in a very slow stage right now, since the drummer and leader of the band threw his back out and is recovering from surgery, so no all night gigs at the moment. We are going to be the featured band at Randy Oxford's Blues jam on Tuesday, July 30, at the Tulalip Casino. We'll play the opening set, at 8:00, then the jamming starts, and then another set at 11:30 or so. But also, if anyone feels so inclined, I'll be at the Tulalip this Tuesday, June 19th, as a jammer. So if anyone cares to check out the Northwest Blues scene, it's a terriffic venue and great music, and I'll but you a beer. I know it's a Tuesday night, and the Tulalip (just North of Marysville) is a little bit of a drive, but still, it is a great time and it would be fun to meet ya. It's definitely the best Blues jam in the Northwest. I will also PROBABLY be at the Monday night jam at the Highway 99, downtown on the 18th. It's another great club, and good quality jam. Let me know, and I'll be there for sure. |

So...you're in a blues band...I guess that makes sense.

I'll probably be out of the country at the end of July.
But whenver you're gonna pass by Belleveu/Redmond/Kirkland, lemme know!

Dang, we were thinking about going up for a long weekend either next or the weekend after, but we'd be coming back on Mon, not Tues. And the Zed will be in the shop for the next month or so anyway...
But... any suggestions on a good place to stay? We were looking downtown, but the cheapest we can find is in the $220 range and we're not really excited about spending $600 on a quick weekend getaway (we could do Vegas for less!). Basically, we just want to check out the d/t scene, head up to Boeing museum, check out the pier, etc. |

Yeah, $220 is pretty pricey, but that's downtown for ya. I've stayed at The Red Lion and Olympic Four Seasons, but both are ritzy and steeply priced.
There are motels just North of downtown along highway 99 that are more reasonably priced, but not as plush. That would be "motel" as opposed to "hotel". There are others near I-5 at the U District and Northgate exits, but I don't know their rates. There's tons near the airport, of course, but it's a long way south... think North End. |

Yeah... his name's not Blue Sharp, but Blues Harp. He plays the Harp.

... or you can pay Bluesharp and stay at his place. I hear he's a struggling musician... haha j/k. |
