Help please!! Inner tire wear.

Hi, Everyone! I have an 2006 325i. I have some issues with my rear tires. I just bought some Linea Corse lc818 less then a month ago. I notice today that my inner tires are bad. I can see the wires on tires. I had the same problem with my rear stock tires. I've search around this forum for answers, most people mention to get an alignment.

My car is lower on H&R sports springs, linea Corse lc818 19x10 in the rear, and I'm running 265 Continental DW tires.

My question is do I need to get an alignment to fix this problem or is it a suspension problem? Thanks!

Have all your control arm bushings checked for tension cracks before you get an aligment.

...alignment most likely...next time you get new rear tires get an alignment and tell the techs that you want less camber in the rear so you can get better tire wear. I'm facing the same thing on my e90 with sports package. my continental DW rear tires are wearing more on the inside. My rear camber was at -1.8 after an alignment, i think it's still too much. I was thinking more of -1.2 to 1-4 rear camber or something like on a non sport model.

Well that's what I got is the Sport package. I'm going to check my bushings and I'll make sure to do an alignment right after I get my new tires. I knew I had to do an alignment after I lower it and put the new wheels and tires. I didn't know they would wear out that quick. Thanks for the info

Bad alignment can cause faster uneven wear on your tires also BMW comes stock with a certain negative camber in the rear. But if you want less wear get an alignment and less negative camber but since your on aftermarket springs it might cause rubbing issues.

I've had this happen... after drastic pothole strikes

rear in the past and now front... amazing how fast when its off the inner tire wear is brutal....

If anyone reads this can you do a 2-wheel alignment or is that moot?

Full alignment at my dealer IS $260+

The place I go to is $80 and he has a pit, rather than a rack. So even if your car is super low you can get an alignment there.

thank you for responding... and i agree appears crazy expensive.

I talked down to $214.10 (with tax) at dealership... still high but at least I received their opinion.

New Question : Right front camber was " not able to be placed into specifications" and replacing struts was recommended.. any thoughts?

Depends on what the "right front camber" spec they are talkin about. If they can not dial in too much camber that's not really a bad thing since you're looking for less wear on your tire. BUT if you're stuck at a crazy camber already and they can't dial it out without replacing your struts, then you might just have to replace em. Get another reputable shop to do the alignment, if they too say that the car cannot be aligned to spec due to a faulty/weared part, then by all means go back to the stealership and get them to replace it. Does you car have CPO or extended warranty? Make use of those if possible. Good Luck!!

Unless you spend tens of thousands on a machine, you wont be doing your own alignment. Paying $200 plus at the dealership is wasting away a good dinner as the local shop here does it here for about $77.

You can do a DIY alignment, BUT for the time, taking it to the shop still makes a whole lot of sense. Also, it is probably not going to be as accurate as the machine as well. People usually do the DIY method after they have done something on the car and alignment goes way out of wack for them to safely drive to the shop to get it aligned again properly =D

..perhaps someone who sees the above scan can chime in as to weather the data would be succestive of a particular problem?

I was told " WE RECCOMEND YOU REPLACE STRUTS " in order to get to the correct camber... ( which I declined )

... thoughts?
