1. Welcome to E90Post.com!
2. Your info in incorrect; the Vishnu PROcede is for the 335i (both Coupe and Sedan which have N54 engine) and the 535i.
3. And this is a big one...

and you'll find the answers you're looking for.

Sure you can. There are lots of people that don't have the exhaust from Vishnu.

But when it comes to the ECU mod. PROCede all the way. There is nothing that can compare to it at this time.

1. the procede is the most powerful ems for the n54 engine as of now.. It works with both the coupe and sedan as well as the 535i.
2. Headers and downpipes are currently unavailable.
3. ultimate racing makes a bov adaptor to run the hks ssq bov try contacted them or go to their website.
4. the meisterschaft exhaust still hasnt been released yet so plan on waiting b/c its been a while
5. The gruppe m is a very good intake system but it will set you back 1800 dollars.. mackin industries is the importer for them so any shop that does business with mackin should be able to get it for you.

and by doing this you will not be in m5 territory as power goes you probably will run the same quatermile time but pull up next to an m5 on a highway roll at 60-70mph and you can kiss your ssa goodbye..

Yup. The E60 and the E9x are very close in weight.

Stage 2 is just a name that manufactures use as titles when you buy their brand.

Its better not to even say stages but list the mods you have and the power you make. Im sure later on when more software comes out for the car, there will be tuners that will give you a custom tune for your own car. Not a generic one.

imo you will pull off on him down low by half track that m5 will be gaining speed very fast and will be catching up, by the quarter mark you both should be around the same time but the m5 will have a higher trap speed..

1. and for the convertible, dunno if the wagon (combi) has the N54 engine, if yess, it applies, too. + the upcoming X3 should be fine with it, too.

2. SuperSprint has DPs, their setup is expensive like hell. http://www.supersprint.com/a_prodott...odello=bmwE921

Don't wanna bug U, but U should do a B4 posting threads like this.

Most of your questions have been covered already, but I will just add that turbo cars don't have headers like a NA car. Instead, they have turbo manifolds, and there are none that have been made for this car. The only time you will really see gains with new manifolds would be if they were equal length, which would help the turbos to spool faster, but in this car that's not really much of a concern. If anything a turbo upgrade would make more sense if you were going to do anything like that.

Swapping the manifolds on a turbo car is pointless unless your upgrading the turbos.

That should also be one of the last mods you plan.

Powerwise, the only mods are ECU tuning, exhaust, intake. No downpipes yet.

Getting a BOV is dumb, the stocker works fine. Unless your doing it cause you like when your car makes cool sounds. If so, you should probly just get a Civic.

[QUOTE=boostedbavarian;1072639]1. the procede is the most powerful ems for the n54 engine as of now.. It works with both the coupe and sedan as well as the 535i.

I just joined e90 and this is my first post here, hopefully u guys can help:

i know some basics about increasing performance, but most of my knowledge is limited to the late 70s when we worked gears, camshafts, manifolds, carburetors, etc. You more modern motor heads now have easily installed chips and other software tricks to massage out HP.

i have a 2008 335i vert on order, & i have read here about xede, turbo tuner, and procede.

i am approaching 50 and have not crawled under a car in quite a while. i like the idea of a quick, good (but not problem causing huge) jump in power, reasonably priced HP modification. but while e90 posts all rave and compare the performance of xede, turbo tuner, and procede, i have not seen any worry about, or even questions regarding the potential downsides of these modifications. ARE there ?

How will the 335i engine crank, auto tranny, etc be able to handle the increased turbo boost / torque? I have no clue about how much room BMW has built into these new 335i motors, and how far they can be push before something either starts to wearing abnormally, or just gives.

I live in quito, Ecuador most of the time (sometimes in NY) and the import duties and taxes here will turn my '08 $55,000 335i convert into a $95,000 major investment.

I plan to put only about 5,000 miles /year on it , and will own this car for many years. What can u guys tell me about how safe these “turbo booster” are for this car.

OR, is a chip a safer, easier way to go. I LIVE IN A HIGH ALTITUDE (9,000 feet above sea level) area if this makes any difference. Also, what is cat back exhaust?

Best of all worlds is one can use a coordinated combination of modifications – without stressing the engine too much.

SAFE, increased HP
Little / no engine stress
can be put in airplane luggage
Moderate costs (ballpark figures please)
Best if can be removed / OR cannot be detected during warrantee maintence.

Thanks for your help
