Oil change time!

Everything else on the iDrive says it's good until next year - which will be 2 years from its last service, but I've only got 1000 miles left on the oil.

Just ordered 8L of Fuchs oil and a filter from Opie Oils, came to £60 including delivery.

If the weather carries on like this it will be a pleasant hour's work on the driveway I'd normally change the air filter yearly too, but it's such a bitch of a job on the 330d I'll leave it till next time!

That is what my filter was, when I changed it last week. Mine is 320 though.

I bought one of those things that suck the oil out of the dipstick. Well chuffed with it. It is so so easy.

It was a pela 6000 and I got it off eBay. Did my van with it too and again was easy. Did some research before I bought it to satisfy myself and a bloke did his BMW with it but also took out the sump plug to make sure it had all the oil taken out and it had.

The 320i still has a dipstick?

Wow.

Its not a great idea though, pulling the oil out that way.

You get to leave all the shit and debris in the sump pan.

If you drain at the sump plug, and then pour a half litre of fresh oil in the top to flush the bits out, its a better idea.

I don't have dipstick on my 320i and shortie you don't have it either.
I think he is talking about e46.
I agree what have been posted above by M1bjr.

Or you can go with engine flush additive or engine flush oil.

from what ??

you make it sound like its a rubbish dump in there

sure all this shit & debris will be caught in the filter or suspended in the oil ?
