Emergency Triangle and Boot Mount Bracket

Hi,

Recently acquired a 2006 318i SE model but the emergency triangle and mounting brackets were missing presumably kept by the previous owner.

I've been down to the local BMW dealer to order myself a replacement as I hate having things incomplete.

The one I have now is in a red plastic case and the bracket to hold it in where it wraps around the triangle case doesn't require a trim fastener rivet? Is this correct?

From searching around on the forum the triangle case should be blue and the bracket should attach to the boot ceiling using a trim fastener rivet? Does anyone know if BMW have changed these parts recently?

Haven't got round to actually fitting the parts yet as I'm unsure whether they are correct.

Regards
Eddy

You have the wrong one, Eddy. The one you need is the blue-cased one which fits to the left-hand side of the boot.

The thinner red case fits in the bootlid-mounted tool-compartment as on the F10, among others.

Idiot Stealers!

I even confirmed my VIN with the parts monkey. He was adamant that the red one was correct although I told him I had only seen blue cases. Oh well a trip back to them.

Well I've installed the brackets now and it fits perfectly.

The triangle case fits into the brackets perfectly so looks like the red one works as well as the blue one.

I've decided just to stick with it now and save myself a trip back to the stealers.
