Interior question
Hi All, I have the brushed aluminium in my E90 325d, the aluminium trim on the door cards is in an awful state as my car started off life as a demonstrator.
2 questions: 1. Does anyone know where i can replacements cheap? 2. Can anyone tell me how easy the job actually is to change them as I am a bit of a newbie at car repair/maintenance etc. Thanks.... |

Replacing them is easy. Most of it is just pop off.
The occasional set pops up on here from time to time, failing that a breakers or eBay might be your best bet. Have you considered wrapping them? I had the same prob when I bought my car. Luckily the dealer I got the car from is excellent and squared me away a much tidier set. Why they made the brushed aluminium the way it is so it gets dunked with the slightest touch is beyond me..

Any ideas what to wrap them with? Don't I then have to change every brushed aluminium panel then?

Most people wrap them in 3M carbon fibre vinyl.
It looks alright, but I prefer the standard aluminium, carbon makes the interior very dark and the alu breaks it up a bit. |
