How many people are still in warranty?
Like topic says, and also if you're not in warranty, did it run out or did you have it voided?
I'm still in warranty, and I don't know much about cars, but do you guys think it's a good idea to remove all my mods and then take it to dealership and leave the car STOCK, till warranty runs out? Just wondering what many people here do. |

Still in full warranty here. Even paid the stealership to put on the BMW PE on the car to make sure there was no complaints if something happened the 6yr 100,000 mile warranty period.
Of course I am not really worried about out of warranty repairs anyway. I have owned about 10 cars in my life and by far, BMW is the easiest car to EVERY work on! Buy the manual on ebay, and do your own work. They really engineer these cars to be easy to work on. Well at least the straight sixes anyway... I know they want 150.00 for an oil change and I can do it for 14.00 (Quakerstate on sale for free with rebate from Advance Auto parts), and it takes about 20 minutes. Spark plugs, 560.00 at the dealer, cost me 60.00 total and about 1 hours worth of work, even cleaned out the throttle body in that time period. Brakes, dealer wanted 1600.00, I did the whole brake job, with cool carbon pads instead of OEM, for about $670.00 and 3 hours of work. Would have been faster if I had done the brakes previously. Very easy work once you understand the unique brake caliper assembly on these cars. |

Still in warranty on my 2010 335i and once mine runs out I'll be purchasing the extended warranty. I did the the same thing on my 07' 335i.
If you want to keep your warranty then take your car in 100% stock. One of the reasons I drive a BMW is because of their warranty. Not having to pay anything out of pocket for services/repairs is a beautiful thing. If you don't care about money and are willing to pair for services/repairs yourself then it must be nice.

Factory Warranty up until this December, and 2 more years of CPO to follow. I always wondered HOW stock the car should be. I have the black grills on it, and am about to put on an M3 spoiler, I don't except anything to void coming from external mods, right? I bought a JB4 and DCI from BMS when I got the car, but its only been about 2 months and wanted to drive it stock for a while before I added those puppies.

A few more months. I previously told my dealer (previous car, non-BMW) don't worry about SW updates, since I was chipped. They were fine with it.
