Tyre pressure not correct for M193 wheel ? (help)

Hi,

I was checking the tyre pressure today, and I got confused by the sticker next to the driver door...

It mentions for 18" (M193, mixed 225ft/255re Category W):
Full load: 2.9bar ft/3.4bar re (290kpa/340kpa).

However when I read the inscription on the tyre it says never put more than 275kpa....

Now I am lost... What pressure am I supposed to use for 225/255 18" mixed tyre on a 325i ///M Sport ?

I put 39psi/269kpa/2.7bar ft/re because of the inscription on the tyre... but is it enough ? doesn't match the sticker at all...

Can anyone confirm how much they put on a 325i E90 M Sport with 18" 193M wheels, and what is written on their sticker ?
Thanks in advance.
Thierry

tire pressure can be set to anything as long as it meets the minimum (printed on a car) and does not exceed the maximum (printed on tire). for best results refer to the manual because they have a table

That's the whole point of this thread... The tyre says the opposite of the sticker/manual... If I put what's on the sticker it will be above the max on the tire...

Are you sure you aren't looking at the pressures for if you will be driving over 100 MPH for long periods of time? 340kpa = 49.3 PSI according to the converter I used, and that's much much higher than what's printed on my door sticker. Mine is 32psi front 36 rear or 220kpa f 250kpa r

This is for a 2006 330i with sport package, which has the same size wheels and tires as your car.

Are you sure it says 2.75 bar in the tire? That seems little, I know I've seen 50 psi.

That may be the problem - as I'd be nervous about even driving on tires which had a maximum pressure much lower than 50 psi or so.

All tires max pressure are different. I had some tires once with a max pressure of 36 PSI, and I've seen some with a max of 50+. Just depends on the make and model of tire.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check again and try to take a photo of the tire and sticker.

I checked again, and figured the problem... There are actually to max written on the tire for the pressure. One says don't exceed max tire bed pressure 40PSI, and one says max pressure 51PSI. Which makes more sense. So I set the pressure to the BMW recommended value, which is below 51PSI anyway.

Thanks for the replies.
